I have had the misfortune to crack a windscreen on the '66 Dart. :banghead:

It happened in some road repairs just out of town.

The insurance company has accepted the claim and will be fitting a new screen. However, living in New Zealand they said there are no screens here. (As the car is one of at the most two Darts in New Zealand I could have told them that.)

They have to procure a screen. What other screens are the same? Are the Valiant sedan screens the same. Does anyone stock screens for a Dart?

At the end of the day it is the insurance company's problem but if I can find out any information that could help it means I get the car fixed quicker.

If nothing is available then the insurance company will have to have a screen made. They did this recently for a friend with a Lincoln Continental. Cost $4500. Then he broke that and they had to get a second one made.

I have an interchange book but being an New Zealand Dart I am afraid that it might be different. Is your car American made? I know the glass is available for a 1966 Dart two door since I just looked it up.

It should be a NAGS DW625-S or a DW625-CL. S should be shaded and CL should be clear.

G'Day! As I understand it, 63-66 Dart windscreens are all the same regardless of body style. I have a 65 Dart wagon which is really just a Valiant wagon with a Dart front clip, sooooo I'd think that a Valiant ought to work as well. I'll get to try this first hand when the wagon gets a new windshield. FWIW hope this helps.

I remember this coming up before and found that thread, a very reliable source says any decent glass shop in the states should be able to get it and the part# is NAGS DW-625. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the prompt replies. So it looks like a Valiant screen will fit so it shouldn't be too hard for the insurance company to source one.

Thanks once again.

Look for "windshield" on the U.S. ebay. Currently there for $170, but best for those who live near a distributor. Shipping is an issue, but that is the insurance company's problem, you can just show them "available here".

I had a call from the insurance company last night.

They said they have found a screen 'in America' and it will be here in 8 - 10 weeks.. :banghead:
