So should I have a window guy replace the seal? The rubber isn't old, I think that the seal is bad.

I had a new windshield and gasket installed on my 69 Dart and it leaked from day one. What I found was the rubber gasket was not sealing good to the glass. I figered this out by pouring water down the glass and making sure it didn't run over the edge. I then took black silicone, pulled the rubber gasket back from outside the car. I ran a bead across the bottom and bam! NO LEAK!

Make sure it isn't the wiper transmissions where the water comes in. The A bodies are great for leaks there.

New front/back glass, gaskets and wiper stuff replaced.......leaks from both ends. Very well may try the black silicone trick as mentioned above.

I would be wearing of calling some windshield guy out, there's quite a few differences between modern glass and our old bunnies. This should shed light on the way to seal it up.

So with that being said, You'd need to caulk under the windshield trim to pinch weld, and take out the rope seal, and caulk under the lip between the glass and seal. But do all the things we recommend first.

Thanks.....have saved it all. Spoke with an old glass guy in town a while ago and he told me he could fix it. He did mention that installing glass in these out buggies so it does not leak can be a bit frustrating.....

So I need to pull all the glass and get new rubber and reinstall it all?

Nope. All of which I spoke can be done with the glass in-car. Weekend job. Had to do the same to my Dart:

A: All your doing is sealing the glass to the seal: remove rope seal (front), lift lip, clean, dry, squirt urethane inside perimeter and clean excess with the aid of adhesive remover.
B: Sealing to pinch weld which the seal sits in: remove trim, clean gap, dry, squirt urethane around perimeter of seal-to-pinch and clean excess with the aid of adhesive remover.
C: Re-install rope seal and trim. Spray bottle of soapy water helps lube up rope seal. Wipe dry. Drive Wet. :D

Enjoy leak freedom!

For the sake of discussion, make sure the windshield washer tube clamp screw hole in the top of the cowl, drivers side, under the hood, is sealed. Mine was admitting water there, and I thought it was wiper pivots or windshield gasket.

As for windshields, they should have sealer in both the groove where the glass sits and around the perimeter of the windshield frame where the seal sits. Mine had sealer all in those locations from factory. Here we are sealing mine up on our windshield install. OH, keep into consideration that if you are replacing glass, that glass is thinner than the original factory glass was which means, better chance for a leak.
