Windshield Seal install question

I'm getting ready to install my windshield on my 75 Dart sport. I came across this video showing how its done. My issue is when the window is in the seal the video shows the guy reusing the the inner part of the old seal, I guess referred to as an seal Expander? The new seal does not come with this and mine fell apart from being dry and brittle when I pulled the window off. What do I use since the new seal does not come with this?

It's called lockstrip (lock strip). Available from most all vendors.
