Windshield Wiper Arm Bushings

I am working on my 74 Dart Sport, and I have had the bushings on the arm broke. This is one of the arms that runs from the motor to the wiper on the drivers side. There is not a big deal to replace them but I am wondering if you have any of installation tips to use on these.

LOTS of threads on this, do a search on here(wiper linkage bushings). They are a nuisance to do(upside down under dash).

90% of the internet listed bushings are junk, too brittle and poor-fitting.
Get factory ones right from the Dodge dealer like Vaanth says, #3799089. A dab of lithium grease in the cups doesn't hurt.

professor fate absolutely nailed it!!!!
I was having so much trouble installing the cheap internet bushings, I went over to my local Dodge dealer and they had them in stock, you will pay a little more but its night and day difference....

I agree. Get the right ones. No problems.
I have no idea where my extras are. But bought them at dealer years ago. Same part number for pickup trucks. Had a white grease in the cups already. Snapped right on. Were in a package of 10 or something.

As for procedure, I like to pull the entire wiper transmission out and do it all on the bench. That way you can properly lube the pivots too. Doing it all inside the dash is just asking for multiple purple hearts. Everything seems like they're made of razor blades inside the dash. Just make sure you get all the links and bushings oriented correctly before snapping everything together as pulling them back apart can ruin new bushings.

cudamark, good advice...That would be a perfect time to install a couple zerk fittings also...

and new wiper pivot seals as long as you're in there...
