Windshield Wiper pivot

Was wondering which direction people are pointing the grease zerk when installing them in the wiper pivots. up or down? Or can they even be greased in position? When put back together?
Took car apart many years ago so I have no reference.

Usually the down position will allow it to be greased in the future. Grease it before installation and it probably never it again.

Thank you for the response. Yeah probably not going to be greased often if ever again. Did not really think about that. LOL
