Okay, I think I have a linkage problem, but when I turn on the wipers, the driver's wiper wants to go up, and the passenger's wiper wants to go down, so they won't do anything. I am sure they didn't work after the restoration, so if anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it. BTW, I did take the linkage off the motor and tried to move it, and it does the same.

Two issues:

1. Wrong forum, as not too many people will see it here. Maybe the Mods will move it.

2. Sounds like the linkage arms were installed incorrectly, based on your description. Possibly more correctly, the linkage was connected to the arms improperly, and they are out of sync. Crawl under the dash and have a look- I’ll bet you see one arm mounted up (or left, etc), and the other mounted down (or right, etc).

Not sure if what I’m saying makes sense to you, but once you see it you’ll get it. And it’s a relatively simple fix.

When you are playing with the wipers, take the arms off and mark the pivots until you have the installation correct. This will keep the wipers from wrecking the paint on your cowl if they are not right. The markings on the pivots will give you a reference as to where the wipers would be when they are moving.

I tend to agree with the above post. You're doing it wrong.
The driver side wiper will have two (2) pivots on it.
The side facing the firewall should be attached to the wiper motor. The side facing the dash should have the "slave" rod (the long link) attached to it. It will attach to the passenger side pivot. It attaches on the pivot facing the firewall. If you don't attach the links properly, they'll bind and won't work.
Before you put it back together, replace the bushings in the link and on the wiper motor or you're going to be doing this all over again soon. Dorman P/N 118-301.

Yes, replace the bushings and you need a copy of Service Manuel, so you can see how the arms go in there.
