I rewired my car last year with a Ron Francis wiring harness. The wiper fuse keeps blowing everytime I turn on the ignition. The wipers are 2 speed with a manual washer pump. I had to use my original wiring harness and add the RF wire as the power source.

Originally I had the wiper switch in the dash bezel but I reccently moved it to the metal part of the dash becuase it fits better. Now the fuse keeps blowing.

Is it because I moved the switch or is it possible something else is wrong? Maybe the Wiper ballast is bad?

I just tried to power the switch with a Power Probe and it tripped the breaker in the power probe. Then I tired to power the wiper motor at the ballast and it tripped the breaker in the Power Probe. Not sure what to do.

Okay I tried letting the switch dangle and the wipers kicked on for about 2 seconds and blew the fuse.

This is interesting!

Any other thoughts on this? Maybe a bad switch?
