How do you remove the headlight and wiper knob switches from the instrument housing. I see what appears to be a washer of sorts with slots cut all around the outside edges. Does that uncrew and is there a special tool do use?

The headlight knob is part of the switch shaft. There is a button on the switch itself you push and hold in while you pull the shaft out. The wiper is either a push on knob or there is a set screw. The washer you mention is a nut that you turn out to remove.

The headlight knob can be tricky if you don't know. Reach under the dash and find the switch. There is a small button you push and hold while you pull the knob off. Then you unscrew the slotted piece and can remove the switch.

I wish I would of asked this question last week. I broke my head light knob shaft, didn't know about the button. Do now

Thanks CudaDriver. came right out. Always good to be able to ask. Experience is key. Thanks again.
