My instructions with the msd box say that the ballast resistor is not required.
Where do the wires go once its removed.
The power goes to the box,but what about the other side?
It is a 69 dart with a 2 wire ballast resistor.
Thanks!

The other side of the ballast to the coil gets removed. You don't need the ballast resistor, just something else to screw up, IMHO. The MSD controls voltage to your coil.

Take a good look at the wiring. You likely have two wires attached to the coil side of the ballast and one or two on the other side. Use a test light and find the wires that are hot in start and run, bring/splice those two wires together and hook them to the small red wire your MSD box. If you don't splice those wires together the box won't be hot.

You could also run a single wire from the coil side of the ballast to trigger/switch the MSD

The ONLY wires that usually connect to the coil are from the MSD.
