ive been meaning to look on ebay or at swapmeets for a sunprotach like an oldschool one so it fits the look of the car. my dad was cleaning the garage and handed me the exact one i wanted and said i could have it. SCORE!

anyway anyone got a clue where the wires go? its an old style one. it has black blue red and green wires i belive. i almost garentee black is a ground. but anyway where should those wires go? it has a light in it so thats some of the wiring. ive never hooked a tach up so i have no clue what id even wire into to get the rpm signal.

also how do they attach these things to the steering colum? with a big hose clamp?

anyway thanks in advance FABO!

I lost my tachometer instructions. What is the wiring color code?

Red: +12 volts with the key in the "on" position

Black: Ground

Blue or White: Dash lights

Green: Tach signal from engine

Red goes to 12 volt + keyon

Black goes to chassis ground

Blue goes to dash lts

green goes to - post of coil or tach terminal of your ignition box if so equipped

I've got mini sunpro and it has red, black, white, green
red is +12v switched ( on when car is on )
black - ground
white - light ( +12v from dash lights )
green - signal wire ( - side of coil )

If memory serves correctly
blue should be the light ( like on stereo's with a dimmer controlled display )

you should be able to take the back off of the gauge and see where the blue wire goes......

That's what I get for typing too slow :)
