Nope, that's the casting number. it will be in the area i colored around, pass side of block, flat machined surface just above pan rail.

I picked up the #1 340 this morning and Bryan is a good guy. I'll leave proper feedback later. I will also post up the VIN of the '68 340 later on in the proper section just in case it's from someone's car (I think it was from a Barracuda, if I remember right). I helped him get some #'s off the other 340 that he can post up later if he wants to.
