I'm missing the long drives and wish I had a good excuse to go again.
Having made some pretty long trips in the Dart it was more fun than I have had in awhile and I am missing it.
We made a big loop awhile back from here in AZ over to the west ocean using sections of Route 66 and hit the Rt 66 James Dean Memorial in CA, then down the coastline hitting all the major beach cruises including Santa Barbara where we took the little side roads along the cliffs and then down to the LA area where we picked up I10 for the drive back to AZ.
Even the semi crowded freeway around the LA area was a blast with the windows down playing old school rock and roll in slow moving stop and go traffic and not in one bit of a hurry.
The entire loop took about 27 hrs driving time with one overnight by the ocean in a town I spent part of my youth in, and it was more fun than I had in a car since the kids were born. (almost 30 years)
The car and weather were both flawless the entire way and I want to do it again.
