My wife has a 2003 Grand Cherokee and I've been building it up for the last few years. One bad weak point is the factory roof rail cross bars. Maybe good for a surfboard or couple sleeping bags at best, lol. Once I added a real roof rack and put the spare up there, it rattles bad even on just rough highway. I even tried adding two more more cross bars from a parts WJ I have laying around and it like they still flex like crazy. This should solve the issue.... BTW, I love this thing, more off-road capable than you might think and with exhaust and intake mods the 4.7 V8 could do 100+ all day long in comfort.
