Woodward Dream Cruise

-
The weekend before Dream Cruise, our town has what used to be called the Helluva Cruise, now its called the Heavenly Cruise! Its a car show and 17 mile long cruise through the Pinckney Recreation area, and the towns of Hell, Gregory, and back through Pinckney, nice country! Used to draw huge amounts of cars, and I still think they get a couple hundred or more! If you're in the area....

I was going to come down for that one last year but did not make it, maybe this year

Hey Geoff . . . .
Where can I get some specifics on the Helluva Cruise for this year? Like date, hours, specifics. I think my Dart may be up to it as a shakedown cruise. haha Rog

Sounds like I'm picking the right time for a vacation and I understand about the GM domination...its like that here too

If anybody is going to any of these let me know and maybe we can meet up

If you want some good food while you are there, try some of these places:

Chinese - Hong Kong 1

9 Mile & Livernois in Ferndale, MI

Carry out only. All food is good - the best Chinese food that I've ever had. Open until 11 PM. I recommend the Sweet & Sour Chicken - the sauce is like a golden syrup. Or try the General Chicken - very good. They have a huge menu and can cook anything.

Standard fried rice is pork fried, and you can upgrade to other meats if you wish, some cost a little extra.

They will tell you on the phone that it will be ready in 10 - 15 minutes, and they usually will have it done in 5 minutes.

Cedarland Restaurant

This one is in Dearborn, but is worth the drive. Awesome arabic and mediterranean food. Fresh smoothies, spinich pies, meat pies, hoummus... I recommend the Shish Tawook sandwich (chicken ka-bob) or in dinner plate form get the "Whole Deboned Chicken" - it is the same flavor and big chunks of meat. for about $15 per plate, you will be stuffed and have leftovers. One of my favorite places to eat in Detroit. You will be back for more.
