I posted awhile back about a high speed vibration after having my driveshaft drop on the highway.(broke loose @ the rear end straps, a problem caused by me)

i had the driveshaft re-tubed and balanced and it still had a vibration. And i figured it would be something in the transmission and i'd need to replace it.

However, looking at the yoke today i discovered that one side of what the u-joint slides in doesnt have a tight pressed fit. You can spin the u-joint cap. Would that cause a vibration issue?

Yes it will cause a vibration, i am surprised the shop didn't catch that as it would have changed again after they balanced it unless they just add the weight and removed it from the machine.

Better lose that slip yoke before your shaft exits the car again
.

Thanks for the input guys, i guess that yoke is gonna hit the bricks this september.(no worries, the car won't be driven much in the mean time)
