I bought a DeVilbiss SRI pro touch up gun about 15 years ago and paid about $250 for it. It was a great little touch up gun. It had an amazing spray pattern. I used it a lot for smaller jobs. The last few times I used it, it didn’t work as well as it used to.l, but it was still OK. After not using it for a little over a year, I tried to use it a few days ago to spray a dash. I could NOT get a decent spray pattern. I called Devilbiss to ask if they had a gun rebuild program, and they said they did not. But they recommended me to a guy in Georgia who they use. It’s going to cost me about $150 to have the gun professionally rebuilt. The new replacement for the my gun is called the pro lite. It costs $750. I think I’ll have mine rebuilt. Wow. The price tripled. I looked around, and all good guns have gotten expensive.

Damn. Better stick with what I got.

Please let us know the info on that guy in GA if he works out well (or if he doesn't!).

Will do. I talked to him for about ten minutes. He told me that as hard as I try to clean my gun, sometimes a teeny bit builds up in tight places (often the air cap), and it's very hard to get out. He said he had a heated cleaning tank that will get it clean. He has been cleaning and rebuilding spray guns for 30 years. That is good, and I figure that Devilbiss would not recommend him if he wasn't good. I plan to mail it in on Monday.

The HF guns all review very well and they aren't all that expensive.

What is there to rebuild? Pull it all apart, soak it in solvent, run a fine wire through everything, soak again and blow it out. Put it back together.

OR buy a new gun from Princess Auto or Harbor Freight for $35 bucks.
