Well guys and gals I picked up a 340 yesterday from someone selling locally including trans and rear end and began disassembly today. Wow what a messy project! Anyway, I'm happy as a clam and sufficiently covered in 30+ year old grease and grime. I'll post pics of the new (old) engine soon so there will be a record somewhere of what it "used" to look like. I really wish I did this for a living instead of pushin' paper.
I'll have some extra parts soon for sale...when I farther along. There will be a 318 that to my knowledge is stock, a Carter carb, 7 1/4 rear end and 904 tranny. I'm not sure about the working condition of the extra transmission so it will be available as rebuildable core...& priced as such. I won't be looking to make a mint off of any of the stuff. I just won't be needing it and won't have storage for it.
But all that is still a ways away. I'm just having fun getting dirty right now. Tomorrow is more degreasing and pressure washing. :toothy7:
