I bought a standard front end kit from PST for a 1963 dart. I pressed the lower shafts into the bushings....No Problem. I went to press the bushing assembly into the lower control arm and it started to buckle and fold......Problem! I measured the other bushing O.D. at 1.466-1.471 seems a little tapered from top to bottom. Measured the control arm pocket at 1.342-1.343 approx. So that's almost an 1/8 inch press on diameter!!! This cannot be right? What size should the bushing be or is the control arm somehow wrong (doubt it)?

Sounds like the "shell" of you old bushing is still in the control arm.

What the other two members above, have stated.

Fully read the "sticky" at the top of this forum.
