Ok, time to be humble and ask everybody for advise once again.

Just finished the 225 to 318 engine swap on our 74 Duster using the schumacher mounts, get everything all bolted up, all the accessories on the motor, drop the front end of the car and now she sits considerably higher in the front than she did before. I was under the assumption...perhaps incorrectly that the 318 would be the heavier motor thus bringing the front end down more than it originally was.

Anybody have any input on this?

Have you moved the car any or is it still sitting where you put the motor in?

I will definitely drive her around a bit....if and when she starts..LOL

Shes right where we dropped her....havent turned the key yet

The suspension was unloaded and the tires kicked in at the bottom a little, and then when you put it back on the ground, the tires have to "scrub" out at the bottom for it to sit back down. After you move the car a little, this will happen and it will settle back down.

Great....Thanks for the explanation...learn a little bit more each day!

This is why, when you do front end alignments, the traditional swivel plates under the tires to move left / right AND in/ out but even then, it's important to "jounce" the car on the suspension to get it to settle.
