Heres the deal: a friend had some problems with his 408 (cyl split) and needed a motor asap to run nmca at indy this weekend.
I loaned him my 373" backup bottom end for the event.
72 340 block, 4.071 bore (bit loose)
3.58 stroke 360 crank, mains buzzed down to 2.5"
Stock late 70s 318 rods, floated, no bushing, drilled for pin oil.
Cheap kb 107 pist. (.006 outa the hole after decking block)
Old flat solid reed cam 248/252 at .050 280/284 running dur. .566/.576 lift w 1.6 rr .018/.020 lash
67.6 olap set up at 104 icl, 108 lobe sep, 112 ecl
Out of box edel rpm heads, victor intake, 850 quick fuel, msd ign & dist.
727 with 3500 stall (fti)
8.75 with 4.56 gears/spool
Is in 72 demon with ss springs, 29" slicks.
Cage, pretty much gutted race car
Just curious to see what the resident calculation experts come up with on avail info.
I know what it did i my car on drag radials, perf rpm ag int, 750 demon, same heads, tight convertor and 3.73 gears, but wont disclose just yet. Thanks for your best guestimates.

if converter flashes to 3500 rpm....

11.70s....

:) 11.26@119
Will see if the rods stay in it.
Not so sure how its gona like the big single plane & 4.56 gears at the strip!
Good thing i have a fresh new 419" on the stand and another fully machined 72 360 waiting...

I was going to say 11.26 and rounded it up , close .

Was an 11.4-11.6 player in my car with the tight convertor. 11.7-11.8 with the slip & slide. El sloppo killed the top end, and 60'-660 was about the same so went back to the tighter turbo action when 373 came out this time around.
