I have a very solid but original auto car. I'm gathering parts for my 4 speed build now. Curious as to if there is a mark or reference for the frame side ball stud. I have a rubber bumper stuck in a hole in the frame rail area. Is that it ? Thanks.

You can also use that hole as another guide to help you position your engine/manual trans assembly correctly.

Do I put the ball stud in the hole to help keep the plate aligned ? Never been around 4 speed Mopars much and have searched this a lot. Just had a few questions.

It would likely be just fine centered on that hole.
IMO, if I am doing this, I'm not welding the plate on until I have the assembly in. I would like to see it with the pedal rod running through the firewall knockout and attached to the bell crank.
I like the frame side slightly higher than the bell side.

Exactly. Why do you like it higher and not correct and level ?
Not a lot. It helps a little on the swing clearance of the stock bellcrank lower arm and straightens out as the assembly rolls up. Just preference I suppose.
