Old news to you may be new to someone else.Old video seen here many times. Your not spreading old news now are ya?
What do you want to know about the heads?
I also follow his channel.
How much power do aluminum heads pick up on a 340 that already have the "x" heads with 2.02/1.60 size valves?
Has anyone actually just swapped to these heads without changing the rest of the setup (cams, intakes, etc, etc) and posted their findings, on any forum or shared amongst engine builders/ racers? Swapping from any oem head including those modified up to a certain point (porting and $$ spent) would obviously see varying degrees of impressive results one would think, only to diminish to the point of being negligible when compared to the other similar ootb aftermarket heads one may be swapping from. In the “jury is still out “ or “not enough evidence” phase more likely?Nice looking heads. Sure haven't seen anything approaching what i would call impressive regards track results though

I realized when I swapped mine over from the CNC speedmaster heads to the trickflows, I didn't change anything but the head gasket thickness to keep the compression the same. Same everything else, even same tires.Has anyone actually just swapped to these heads without changing the rest of the setup (cams, intakes, etc, etc) and posted their findings, on any forum or shared amongst engine builders/ racers? Would like to see more comparisons similar to Toluene56have posted this on here before, but have a buddy with a pretty typical Bracket type Duster. Somewhere between 3000-3100 including driver.
Does have a 727. 264-268 Hughes solid cam, 630 Lift. 12+ compression
950. Has tried both excellerator and Victor. 8 inch vert, big tube headers, etc
Its been a best of 10.55 thus far at 126 ish.
I would expect a well done eddie head to run like that, possibly even a hair better.
Just my .02 but short of back to back dyno runs im not sure there is an accurate way to test them considering all the variables. Then the problem is compare them to what?, there is nothing to compare them to ootb, you would need ported edelbrocks/speedmasters and then who did the port work at what cost to the average guy lol. Trickflows are all by themselves and it seems as everybody wants to treat them as a race head when they are only a 190 cc port but then they want to compare them to ported edelbrocks which unless you have a bench or pay a bunch of money to have them ported the trickflow is superior in price point/flow. They also have better geometry, better quality springs/parts, cnc porting etc. I consider them the best priced/quality street head available and until edelbrock offers a cnc version at a couple hundred bucks less (to pay for better springs and a b3 correction kit) to me the trickflows are a better investment.Has anyone actually just swapped to these heads without changing the rest of the setup (cams, intakes, etc, etc) and posted their findings, on any forum or shared amongst engine builders/ racers? There is a thread from prh that has the flow results form the cnc speedmasters and from what I saw it pretty much backs up the gains toulene56 had.seems like a HUGE jump to gain 6 tenths from a CNC head to the Trick Flows.
Thats probably 80 horsepower, or more. Thats tons.
I personally have yet to see any more than pretty much a push from ported eddies. Not doubting your results, but they seem an outlier.
That means that a guy like Flyfish should expect to run 9.70’s if he took his eddies off and put trick flows on...
Unless the CNC job on those knockoff heads was extremely lacking

I would gather the cnc job on the speedmasters wasn't that great. AND I lied, I had forgot that I changed from 1 5/8 headers to 1 7/8 So I guess it's not an equal comparison. I will take my flogging now.seems like a HUGE jump to gain 6 tenths from a CNC head to the Trick Flows.

Magnum 5.9 blockwhsts your combo again?
That is haulin at 7300 feet. 120 mph is impressive
Considering the Trick Flow has a 30 -40 cfm @ .500 advantage over the CNC SM it is very possible.seems like a HUGE jump to gain 6 tenths from a CNC head to the Trick Flows.

Small Block Head Flow Chart here at post #12, if irc that was before a valve job by prh. Also from what I saw flyfish"s heads were done by shady dell and flow right there with the trickflows. What did they flow?
Good rule of thump is 20 horse for every 10 cfm difference. Not a perfect way, but ballpark

Absolutely agree, and I'm sure the headers made some difference but the low lift numbers on the intake of the cnc speedmaster really stood out to me. If I guy can port he can have ootb trickflow performance for a few hundred less after upgrading springs but I had enough of porting and spent the few hundred on the tf heads, took them apart, cleaned them, shimmed a few springs, put them together and ran them lol. I do think allot of people expected too much "magic" from a 190 port 2K set of mopar heads, although they do look the part of "full race" heads.i learned a long time ago Ryan’s numbers on everything are/ were “ optimistic”... much like Hughes.
The W5’s he did for me were claimed to go over 330.
They were on two other benches( one was Best Machine) and they barely broke 300. My brother had his eddies that had merely been checked over fully ported by Ryan, the car never picked up anything. Ran 11.38 best ever both ways(360). He then put them on a nice 416 and they never broke 120 mph.......
I do agree though that well done Eddies do flow “ right with Trickflows”. I know a number of guys who have Modern CNC ported Eddies. Always run excellent. Those numbers are similar to Trick flows Modern gets.
That is why i said earlier i was surprised Toulene saw 6 tenths difference from the CNC knockoff Eddies at the track and Trick flows. When( if the CNC and valve job are good) a well done Eddie and the Trickflows seem to have similar results.
That tells me the CNC on those knockoffs wasnt up to snuff, in fact, mudt have been downright poor in the power dept.
People definitely expected way too much from the tf’s. But I am totally happy with how they performed they have surprised the hell out of me, I did not expect to get low 11s in our crap air. They’ll never really match up to a well done set of w series heads or maybe even victors.Absolutely agree, and I'm sure the headers made some difference but the low lift numbers on the intake of the cnc speedmaster really stood out to me.
