I did drop the tank,,has brand new pick-up and screen...

previous owner replaced ballast resistor...choke looks brand new...with the key on,tester lights-up on one side of this little round gizmo,,comes from there,gos to the thermostat heat choke,,shows no power to the choke....ran hot wire to the choke from the batt.,choke opened ownly about...

bought a 76 A-body...Ran great for 3 days,,,,but now it starts right up,runs for about 10 seconds then dies?! Previous owner replaced carb,gas tank,pick-up,all gas lines....Horn wire was unhooked,,because it blows when the the key switch is turned on....I installed a electric fuel pump,,,still...

cost of each wheel 1/8th"x4" wide and have it rolled $26.& change,4ft. long..I used 5-1/2" rim..added 4"s came up with a 9-1/2" rim..Unless you like the look and extra weight,,,,i would add a little more$$ & go w/aluminium..

Were talking 1/8th" thick material,,,diameter of pipe goes by inside diameter,,,,until it gets to 10" or larger then it`s measured by outside diameter...theres;10",,12",,16",,20"no half size..sch.40 pipe is 1/4"thick,sch.80 is1/2" thick and so on...i`ve seen sch.20 but then were talking duct...

Then type in (wheel shells)....If i ever make another set of wide rims,i would grab a pair of these.... same page scroll down to;( widening stock wheels ) see what " crackedback" has to say,,

Speedway moters sells what they call wheel (shells) Buuuut....w/ only 12-5/8" inside diameter.. 8x15 10x15 12x15 14 x15...then you weld your centers in

Good idea,,a man has to improvise w/ what he has,,,I was wondering those 15" space saver spares are 4" ? I`ll check wifes car if she let`s me..

I agree! (money part) most pipe welders have to take welding test ,,,for every job..and their all different,, Once you pass the pull test,you have a job,but every weld you make in field..then it has to pass x-ray..that`s why most pipe welders are pre-madonnas...It`s not unusal for one to have...

Theres rod burners and then theres WELDERS....BIG difference!!

tubed (mini) Dart,,moved springs in,narrowed rear...The less back spacing,the more stress on bearing,and studs... Don`t worry about the DOG...worry about the GUN!

Demo. only ,don`t have another pair same size...stuck w/ one each..

None taken,, made some back 1986 mounted n-50s tire shop mounted &balanced them,,had them on 75 dart 6cyl. 80m.p.h. no vibration.6 was straining 3.23 posi certified pipe welder 30yrs. welded everthing from the crack of dawn to a broken heart..pipefitters local 162 dayton.. No shells to buy back...

what kind of wheels? disc brakes means 15" wheels..Myself i would get the deeper back space,,,nothing worse than the front wheels protruding out farther than the rears.... .Don`t worry about the dog,,worry about the GUN!!

I agree....T.S.C. has a good selection of leangths,,,you may even have to cut some threads off,,,better that (what she said) then to short!!!

Early 340s often blew head gaskets ,,once the comppresion reaches 10.5 or more...(small block chevy) has 17 7/16th bolts,340 10 1/2" bolts,,Before (arp) (pioneer) and others were around,,You could go to farm & fleet,,,a.k.a. T.S.C. buy grade 8 bolts...(maybe cheaper) than A.R.P. Make sure to...

The guy that does my machine work made a nice one...had a couple of different lake wood bellhousings that he drilled extra holes for different applications.. I`ll try to get picture if you would like... (Brookville Head & Block service)

motorhead446; starting to take pics. would you know how to post pics. on this forum? I use( picasa ) Had to use my plasma cutter to cut the rims, Blacksmiths big lathe busted..It was 78yrs. old..Made in germany,can`t find parts to fix it. Looks like i`m going to do a little extra work!!
