no power goin to my lights

I'm looking at a Plymouth service manual, valiant. I believe he will read voltage with red VM lead , 12V+, at position J at the bulkhead connector if the link is good, and black lead is attached at starter relay circuit ground. If no voltage between position J and the ground terminal then the...

    battery cut off switch

Fellows, please read, see what you think, and comment on this. I am looking at the 1970 Plymouth service manual for the 340. Think first in terms of the stock setup. From the positive side of the battery you have heavy wire going to the starter and a lighter wire going to the starting relay...

    battery cut off switch

I believe the rulebook states (General Regulations, page 32) that the battery box must be sealed and has to be vented outside the body, probably reduced risk of hydrogen gas. You can confirm by reading the rule book.

    340 Cheater Cam

Hi fellow members, Thanks for your info and support. I have contacted Factory Mopar Parts.com, no inventory on requested cam. Also have contacted Comp Cams. This is the route I prefer since the Cam Dynamics cam profile is probably long time obsolete. I have given them the cam specs...

    340 Block Deck Height

Hi Fellow Members, I been studying Mopar literature of various sources and am getting conflicting 340 C.I., technical information. I want to know (1) what is the correct factory block deck height for a 1970, 340 c.i. motor, 9.94", 9.85", (2) piston deck height with the stock, factory cast...

    74 Dart w/ 340 6 pack

Hi Evildart, Yes, the color is outstanding. You know what's so nice about yellow, the contrast is great with black interior, black tires and lot's of chrome. They all complement each other. Let me know how you make out on the dyno with the Holley carbs. I would think that since these...

    Help on 340 combo

HI 67cuda roland, You've been given a lot of good information. I agree with another member that you should start with the rear suspension first. Steady improvement requires a lot of discipline. Change one area at a time or you will get lost. Get the rear suspension running right first...

    74 Dart w/ 340 6 pack

Hi Evildart, Love your six pack package. I'm a 340 six packer myself. Couple of things. The original six pack carb's from Mopar in 1970 had an idle circuit which ran lean, making the motor very difficult to start, even for street applications. I have no idea whether the current carbs...

    Help on 340 combo

Hi there, Well one thing is for sure. The car is squatting which in effect pulls the tires up off the payment causing tire slippage throughout your run. I assume your springs are multileaf, stock or super stock? The rear leaf springs should cause the rear of the car to rise not squat. The...

    340 Parts Interchangeability??

Hi Cosgig, I recommend you go to your nearest Chrysler dealer and purchase the Mopar Engine Modification handbook. It will answer a lot of your questions and satisfy for yourself what is right. Later on, consider one for chassis performance book too. During your teardown of the 340 cast...

which gear ratio for 1/4 mile

Hi 440outlawdart, I really find it difficult to believe that your peak rpm is so high. A fellow member recommended 5700-5800 RPM and I agree. I believe this should be your tarket for both shift points and running through the traps. A Hemi car has always been designed to sustain high rpm...

    Kyle Busch

Well fellows, I don't like any of the Bush brothers, even if they are running Mopar. They'd be more popular and respected if they made beer. I gave up on Nascar years ago (really the Jimmy Johnson Race series). If you really want to enjoy great racing, watch or go to ASCS Races in your...
