    Chrysler Correct Terminology ?

Well the correct answer is out there. Its just lost in the mists of time gone by and countless millions of people airing thoughts and opinions. I asked the guy about where he got that info and the answer makes a lot of sense. He certainly knows his history and does not seem to be making it up...

    Chrysler Correct Terminology ?

ok thanks for answers. Interesting that no GM service manual ever mentioned those terms. i'd also "guess" that the public and end users of the cars with these engines started calling them Big and Small. It certainly isn't the sort of term that engineers would use!! It's like the public...

    Chrysler Correct Terminology ?

Hello, i have a question for Chrysler die-hards - an administrator from another Mopar forum said that the terms "big block" and "small block" were originally Chev terms, coined by GM or Chev people. Thankyou guys so much! A fellow here in Oz said it was a Schneider but i didn't believe him as i could not see a Maltese cross in that picture. But now i can, the stamp has jumped and formed a shadow and the hair on the spider is actually the "S" inside the cross. The stamp was not straight...

    Can anyone ID this camshaft?

Does anyone recognise this symbol or these numbers? Came out of a 71 340 engine. It is a mild street hydraulic, I measured the lift at the lobe 0.311" and at the valve = 0.467". Thanks

    Can anyone ID this camshaft?

I pulled this cam out of a previously rebuilt 71 340 engine. My guess is that the engine was rebuilt in the mid to late 80's It is in good condition and i am looking to see if anyone here recognises the numbers or the symbol stamped on it. The symbol looks like a hairy spider. It is definitely...

Found another car! 27,000 mile Challenger Rallye

What a nice score! You lucky guy. Not many left with those very low miles and all complete, esp with all the Rallye gear and black interior. I'd say most likely a 74, if it was a 73 with all that gear it would most likely have had the 340. If it was a 360 it should have the 360 4 barrel badges...
