    Magnum, Magnum R/Ts

    A similar thread going on over at DT right now. All the dakota guys are po'ed about chrysler ending production of the R/T heads due to crappy castings. Chrysler has no intention of bringing back the magnum R/T heads at this time.

    5.9 Magnum into a 73Duster

    Man, I wish you the best. I absolutely hate working with the stuff your dealing with in order to put that combo in an A body. Im confused already! If you run out of spring in your step, remember the 5.9 magnum is VERY carb friendly!! Good Luck, I'll be checking in for updates!!

    No doubt. When I first got my duster, I was looking over my book of head casting #'s trying to decode the heads on it & thought I had hit a gold mine. Low & behold they are just regular 360 J heads.......

    The 360 thats in my Duster now was built in 1994 & I have a dyno sheet from Bristol TN where the guy had it dyno'ed. It made 389 RWHP. Its nothing fancy, just a good running street motor. 72' 360 block bored .40 71' 340 J heads ported/polished Mopar single plane intake of the M-1 variant...

    Thats the way I had planned on doing it. Just wanted to know about the other way, guys always say "thats how chrysler did it". Looks to me like it would be easier to come out from the top as well. Lots of stuff to unhook if you go out the bottom me thinks.

    Guys, how do you drop the K member & lift the car over the engine? Is this easier than pulling the motor/tranny from the top with a cherry picker? Never done it befor, can you please shed some light on it for me. What all do I need to do to drop it all out of the bottom? Thanks alot. Matt W.8)

    273 commando cam

    Since its a 4spd. car, you could run a good sized cam & not have to worry about a stall. I have the old solid purple 292 cam in my duster & like it. Sounds great at idle & im pleased with the power.
