I'm running a 340 with an LD340 intake, I'm being told that if I go to mopar performance valve covers I'll have to "notch" the valve covers. Does this cause any issues with getting a good seal? Has anyone else run into this? Thanks

I'm looking for a oil filter relocation kit for my Demon 340, Any suggestions on a good kit??

If it makes the noise only when moving I would check the speedo cable as a starting point.

X2 on the VR-1 race oil, I've been using it for years and never had an issue.

Startron for the past 3 years with no problems. I also add some every time I fill the Demon up to help with the ethanol issues. I use it in all my lawn Equipment, Boat motors ect. No problems yet.

In my Demon 340 I'm running 10-30 Valvoline VR-1 Racing oil, now not to start another oil thread I'm being told I should be running 20-50 here in NJ. Is thicker better? or is the 10-30 fine? Thanks

Thanks for all the info, I just replaced the gasket with a copper crush washer. I'll keep you posted on how it worked. Anyone know where to get a new plug with a magnet in it? Triumph recomended it on my bikes and I figured it couldn't hurt. What size are the drain plugs? Thanks Tom

My 340's oil drain plug has a small drip. I used a new gasket but it still has a small drip, any sugestions?? Thanks

Try tapping in an ez-out but be carefull, if that doesn't work try Collapsing the outer edges into the center be very carefull and working it out slowly.

Looking at a 72 challenger my friend picked up, it is supposed to be a 340 car but I can't find any markings on the block. Has anyone else ran into this? Where else Can I look? I checked the head stampings and they appear to be 340 heads. I just want to put his mind at rest on this.

Did you use an oil for flat tappet applications? If not did you add a zinc additive? There are special additives to break in a flat tappet motor, the newer oils Don't contain the necessary zinc and phosphorous that our flat tappet engines need. I use Valvoline VR1 Racing oil or the new Brad...

Looking at a 340 for a buddy of mine , block has the 340 markings but I don't see an X or J on the heads. Should this throw up a red flag?? Thanks

+2 on the Wix filter, My buddy owns a few auto-parts stores and that is what he recommends and uses on his 73 challenger 340. He stocks @6 brands but uses wix on his own cars.

Do you use 10-30 or 20-50?

Has anyone tried this yet? Their tech support told me that it has 1400 ppm Zink and 1300 ppm Phos. Would that be fine in a '72' 340?
