    Sound deadner

Did you notice any off-gassing from that stuff? I have heard that some home repair type materials give off an asphalt odor. Otherwise, like that solution.

    Audio question?

I wont be running mine on bluetooth, that's why I stated that I will be running a newer style h/u. Possibly something with android auto/apple carplay. I do use Slacker and have the premium subscription and you can download your stations and play them and not use data and also pick the quality...

    Audio question?

I like the simplicity, but I'm a big audio fan and will be running at least 2x10" if not bigger speakers plus components. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000 watts total. I like it loud and clean. This will most likely necessitate a newer style head unit after I repair the dash from the last...

    Audio question?

I have ran amplifiers in cars with no head unit at all. I ran them off of Sony Walkman, Diskman and IPods. Use the 3.5mm outlet to a dual RCA male plug and that goes into the amp. I would ASSume that if the amp if Bluetooth ready, it would eliminate the cable. Install speakers like normal or...

1975 So Cal "installed Smog Thing"

It's from Google images. There were several different types of Nox kits on the market. If you had an older car and it didn't pass, they would sale you a kit. It also involved regarding the timing. It also included a sticker saying the kit was installed.

Is there "a combo" to make use of Cummins turbos?

I have been thinking of Turbo charging my 63 Valiant just for the ease of making headers fit. Have them mount in the front and run the downpipe and exhaust where the manifolds dump and out the back. Hmmm now if I didn't have 10.1 compression already.

Is there "a combo" to make use of Cummins turbos?

When I played with the Ford 2.3L turbo motors from the 80's, we would use the Holset Cummings turbos and drop them on. A little soft on the bottom, but huge power mid to high rpm. I would think it would be a bit small for a V8. The Cummings is a 5.9 6cylinder motor and the Ford is a 7.3L V8 that...

BBQuda on Motor Trend on demand

So Steve Dulcich had loaned his 68 Barracuda to a friend to prototype a gen 3 hemi install kit. Then California had it's big fires and this car burned to a crisp. Watch Roadkill Garage to see what they did with it.

    7.25 rear woes....

Sounds like they just didn't want to do it. When I don't want to work on a car, I just price it high, then if they still want me to, at least the money motivates me to want to.

    7.25 rear woes....

Possibly locate 1 in a local you pull it type yard. These rears bolt in, but the spring locating pin needs to addressed. Either use a bushing to fill the space, or take yours out and drill it bigger to fit the Ford. Either way, not a big problem. You will need to address the driveline as it will...

    7.25 rear woes....

A would say a complete good usable 8.75 for an A body is going to run you close to $1000. An 8.25 probably half that. I got my 8" off of craigslist for $20, yes $20. Local yards here want about $250 or so. The last A body bare housing I saw had an asking price of $900. $300 for the axles and...

    Fabricating a shifter console

I'm in the middle of welding in new floors in my 1963 Valiant convert and ideas started popping into my head while I had the welder out. I figured all this practice welding, I can probably make a console. I was going to just use flat sides and top as I hadn't thought about how to make a curve...

    7.25 rear woes....

Go with the Ford 8"rear. Parts are plentiful, way stronger then the 7.25 and have the dropout center. Makes it easy if you ever want to change gears. Plus you have options on limited slip, locker or spool. I got mine out of a Maverick, but I think the early Mustangs (64.5-66 or 67-68) used the...

How does shipping with Fastenal work?

Right now, or at least last week we had an embargo on freight going to New Jersey and the surrounding area due to weather. Also had embargos in the past to Houston and southern Florida. We won't pick up freight destined to these affected areas due to the fact that it will just sit on the docks...

How does shipping with Fastenal work?

Shipping hoods, trunks and doors are a pain in the butt. They have corners and since you can't move them with a forklift, they get hand carried (Except when the dock guy puts them on top of other freight to move across the dock) and set down. This is when the corners of the body part gets...

How does shipping with Fastenal work?

Being that I am the guy who ends having to actually deliver this stuff, I cant overstate to make sure you secure AND USE GOOD pallets. You would believe how many times I have to take pictures and document on my end, just so your claim is denied because the shipper did a piss poor job. I have...

Cars you'd sell your A body for

I would like to get a 1969 RS/Z28 Camaro. My 1st car was a 1969 RS Camaro that got hit by a 1978 Ford Country Squire wagon. His fault. With the insurance money, got my 2nd car, a 1969 Camaro. When I went away to school my parents sold it.

Many New Cars Have No Spare Tires

That works for the regular GT, as it has 13.9 inch rotors and comes with either 17" or 18" rims. The Performance Pack has 15" rotors and 6 piston calipers and comes with 19" rims to clear and not all 19" rims clear either. You can kind of see in this pic

Many New Cars Have No Spare Tires

My 2016 Mustang GT with the performance package doesn't have a spare option. Fords Mustang spare is an 18" rim and it won't clear the 15" rotors and 6 piston Brembos. I pickup a nail on the inside sidewall on the freeway and tried using the mobility kit. After about 10 minutes of trying to...
