What's a good coating for exhaust manifolds???

VHT has held up awesome for me. Nine years and no issues.

    jegs a body exhaust system

I installed the Jegs kit recently. The kit is designed to connect directly to their headers, so, as stated, they will not go all the way up to your manifolds. You need head pipes for that. I got mine from TTI. It all came together fairly well.

    1970 318 duster exhaust question???

Alpha13.. I'm sure you are right with your explanation in regards to the pipe size argument. But In my ignorance, it just goes against my limited concept of how this stuff works! I always heard that, to make more power, let the engine "breathe" better. Usually this is done in the first stages...

    1970 318 duster exhaust question???

I'm callin BS! Don't get me wrong here alpha13, your argument is well worded and all, but it doesn't make sense to me. I'm no expert on the topic, lol, but this goes against common sense. BTW, yes, there IS something as back pressure. And to illustrate my point, try running your manifolds thru...

How to Plug Smog Ports in Manifolds

^^ I think this may be the correct answer. Have you done a mock up to see how the manifolds will sit against the heads? When installed, I think maybe the holes you are concerned with will be blocked off by the head. Then all you need to do is put a plug in the end of the manifolds.

TTI Header installation with column shift – kickdown linkage help

Did you not get the instructions? I think you need to make a couple modifications to the assembly. You can go to their website to see diagrams of these instructions: 1. The bellcrank and the pivot shaft must be shortened by 3/4”. 2. Weld the bellcrank back together as shown. 3. Re-bend the...

    ground clearance

I looked at the Dougs thru the link above, Bruce, but nowhere does it say they are ceramic coated, or anything coated for that matter. It does say that they are polished though. And only a 3 month warrantee? Is that the norm for decent headers?

HP manifolds, TTI headpipes, Jegs 2 1/2" dual exhaust kit (?)

Hmmm, I agree. But I don't think that will cause too much of a problem with what I'm going for.

HP manifolds, TTI headpipes, Jegs 2 1/2" dual exhaust kit (?)

Bruce, thanks man! This helps a bunch. It's looking more like it will work out just fine. So if I order this stuff up and it doesn't fit, it's your fault.

HP manifolds, TTI headpipes, Jegs 2 1/2" dual exhaust kit (?)

Bruce, the head pipes (from TTI) stop in the same location as the headers (also from TTI) But what I want to do is mix n match... I don't know if things will line up if I use TTI head pipes, and then run the JEGS exhaust kit. Beer makes everything better

HP manifolds, TTI headpipes, Jegs 2 1/2" dual exhaust kit (?)

Alright you clowns, you're mucking up my thread! So let me reiterate a little... I would like to combine my TTI head pipes (which are connected to HP manifolds) with the Jegs exhaust kit. (Jegs sells their kit for $250... The Similar kit from TTI is close to $700) Understandably, if the...

HP manifolds, TTI headpipes, Jegs 2 1/2" dual exhaust kit (?)

I've been wondering if this would be a fairly straight forward approach to a budget exhaust system for my project: ('70 Dart, LA360), HP manifolds, TTI headpipes, Jegs 2 1/2" exhaust kit with welded mufflers. Now I'm fairly certain that the Jegs kit won't directly connect to my TTI head pipes...

    Need exhaust help

I think there have been several write ups about the $250 Jegs 2 1/2" mandrel bent, aluminized exhaust kit, with welded mufflers included. The consensus seems to be that people are satisfied or very happy with the kit. I think this is the same kit RaniDart purchased recently. I'm hoping to get...

    exhausting question

I bought the exhaust pipes (head pipes) from TTI, and I'm going to try the Jegs complete exhaust system. I have the 340 manifolds as well. Jegs complete mandrel bent 2 1/2" system with mufflers is like $250

HP manifolds with NO gaskets (?)

These are the HP 340 manifolds with the 2 1/4" outlets. They're going on my new LA 360.. They aren't warped, as far as I know, but they look pretty beefy enough to handle a resurfacing. The machinist is a highly regarded engine builder / race car owner and builder. I'm confident he won't do...

HP manifolds with NO gaskets (?)

    Exhaust manifold bolts

Keep soakin em. Also a 'heat-up' with a torch, then squelch with a 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone. Then when the time comes to remove the bolts, be patient. Your first direction should be to TIGHTEN (clockwise) the bolts, ever so slightly. Then, carefully begin counter clockwise rotation, and...

    Mufflers with bypass (?)

A buddy of mine told me about a set of mufflers that he used to have, and I was curious if anyone here has ever seen or heard of them. They are turbo style and, under heavy acceleration, there is some sort of bypass that allows straight thru exhaust path. I never heard them, but he said they...
