What to watch out for: '12 Crew Cab Cummins

On the test drive, when we stopped and put it in 4 high with the round thingy, a light flashed twice, and stayed on. We were on the road, but nothing made noise. When it was turned back to 2WD, it flashed twice, then went out.

What to watch out for: '12 Crew Cab Cummins

Hi everyone. My husband and I are looking at upgrading our dually. We currently have a 2004.5 SLT Crew Cab Cummins. It's 2WD -my husband doesn't care much for 4WD's-325 HP, with the 6-speed. It has about 270K miles. We both like it, but I don't drive a manual transmission. Sure, it's not...

I'm trying to find out more info about the car. I'm not sure that I've been trying to sell her on this thread  Does anyone know how to decide the Build Sheet?

Well, with the tires flat, I can't get a floor jack under her. I need to pump up a tire or two and go from there.

Here's an update. The engine's not locked up. I didn't try a full circle because of the stupid flex fan, but she turned w/o much effort. And here's some Build Sheet pics. After looking @ everything, I've decided to sell her.

The Cowl # matches. For the life of me, I just don't see any radiator support #'s Do the #'s point up, or in, towards the firewall?

HOT DOG!!!!! I found the Build Sheet in the back seat back. She's a true BS23H2 car! The last four of the dash, door, and Build Sheet match-those were the only VIN #'S that I checked. And I've got Marvel Mystery Oil in seven of the eight cylinders.

No, unfortunately I can't do body work. I do want to try & get her running, and authenticate her #'s. I'm going to try and get her down to London next weekend.

Good morning all! I've got another stupid question for you. Right now she's got 14 inch wheels on her, I've got some 235 75 15 on some beater Cragar Wheels. Would they fit?

I've been talking to the PO, and she believes that it's originally out of Frankfort, Kentucky, and that she was the second owner. I'm going to pop the plugs this weekend and see if she'll turn over. What does everybody suggest to put in the cylinders before I try to turn her over?

Here's a couple more pics. I plan on trying to authenticate the vin on the 833 & 340 this weekend. The door matches the dash. Where would the other #'s be? I haven't drank enough in quite some time to think that she's only 16K on her. My 28K mile Demon is in much better shape. I'm sorry, but...

She's got 16,*** on the clock. A body guy looked at her today, and said the floor pans and the rails are in pretty good shape.

Good afternoon Sportsfans. Shelia's a 340 Pistol Grip car. No fender tag, and I've not looked for a build sheet. She's been sitting outside since around '85, and off of the road since about '89. Should she be sold to someone that can restore her, part her, or??? More pics to follow. Thanks for...

I need help buying a Cummins.

I absolutely LOVE the '95-'97 F350 7.3 Crew Cab. My concern in, realistically '20, is that I don't know that they'll hold up as well as a Dodge/Cummins.

Thanks for all of the feedback!! I'm going to look @ a '04 Crew Cab dually, stick, gooseneck, & about 240K on the clock. He's asking $8K. From the pics, everything looks good. I will check for the blowby, & the rust.

My only thought is it's that time of the year. I'm trying to keep from buying someone else's lemon, because I can't do this twice.

I'm currently looking @ three that are < $13K. I just don't know what to look for, or avoid. It would be great if someone on here had something.

I need help buying a Cummins.

Hi all, my name is Doug. I'm looking to buy a crew cab Dodge pickup in the near future. I'll have up to $13K to spend, and will be paying $$. It has to be 2WD, and I'd prefer a dually. The age isn't as important as the miles. I really don't want much over 250K on the clock, so I'm probably...

An idiot killed my baby. Need advice.

I'm glad that you're not hurt. In '19 your car is going to be repairable. They aren't making any more Dusters. Now maybe you don't have the skills or $$ to fix it up, but someone does. Even as a roller, it has potential. I've driven cars in worse shape than that one.
