If you guys can make it and would like to come over, you are more than welcome. I will pull the bar-bee-que out and and we'll have some fine brats for lunch, beers and Cokes.
Good luck with with the install and the paint Alex.

Smith Brothers Pushrods just arrived! Very nice looking! They just need adjusting now. Pushrods are 3/8" with 5/16" cup/ball, .120 wall thickness.

Not sure, they are the original 3" 40's, I have used them on a number of cars and they are the ones I like.

Went to Flowmaster's website, it says the the 40's are 2 chamber.

I had some 3 chamber ones b4. I liked the sound of them. I don't care for a real loud car.

All depends what we're talking bout here... ;) lol

As far as installing engines, I prefer to go in from the bottom. We'll leave the other possible discussions to another time

Have fun Alex, wish I could be there, Brock gona show? Remember no beer till its in.

Quite the day. Lots of learning what it takes to get this 408 in there with headers and the power steering gear in the way. Can't thank Higgs enough, he was here until we won!

I don't think that power steering hose goes there.:poke: Looks good Alex.

So...the install of the 408, Schmocker conversion mounts, and the Dougs headers is done. As you might remember I modified the slant 6 K member as per Schmocker instructions...and have to say the Schmocker kit worked perfectly. What was the biggest issue during install was the OEM Power steering gear. We could not get the thing in while leaving the gear in place. So...the OEM gear was removed and everything fit in nicely. What to do? I decided to sh!tcan the OEM PS gear and ordered a new Borgeson 14 to 1 gear. It is a lot smaller, weighs a lot less and will make the PS a lot tighter, and best of all...is supposed to fit great with the Dougs headers. I will be using the Bergman Auto Craft direct fit steering box coupler. All this was ordered today. By all means not a cheap way to go, but nothing I have done with this build has been the cheap way....so what the heck new modern PS gear to be installed. Here is a few links about the Borgeson/Bergman set up:

Nice Alex! From what all I've heard the borgeson box is a worth while upgrade!!

Also, while you're at it you could go ahead and eliminate the factory steering coupler. I'll be doing this very mod in the next few week hopefully.

How To Replace your Lower Column Bearing: Better and Cheaper!!!

Oops. That link is for the lower bearing (also a mod I'll be doing at the same time as the coupler) here's the link for the coupler
