The lunati “cam kit” he ordered and installed is a cam and lifter set (you don’t reuse lifters on new cams so they sell em as kits) and is a well know street grind cam from a reputable company. That’s awesome! Nobody that I know has been able to really explain it to me. I’m a home builder and have a passion for cars, but I don’t know much about engines etc. That was very very helpful! Thanks :)

WOW! What a cool story!! So amazing that you and your dad could experience that together! That’s the one thing I wish was different about my story. But I’m still beyond thankful to have found the car! I read half of your thread. Heading back there now, to hopefully find out if you got your engine block back…and see the status of your build. Thanks again

Once a year a cool story like this will pop up. Last year it was @Scott_ 69HemiDart inheriting his FIL's '69 Hemi Dart. This year is your year and I am looking forward to following along on your build.
 
Here are the 2 pictures I found in my dads house of the car. The 3rd one is a picture that the hydro guy who I bought it from tool when he bought it. He gave it to me when I picked up the car. It was sad. He was ashamed that he let it sit and degrade as much as it did over time

Sharp looking ride back in the day, and I have no doubt that it will look as good or better when you are done.
 
A few more interesting photos. Lol. So I remember my dad sideswiping a tree when I was younger and caving the passenger side door in. When I picked up the car, it had a brown door on it. I asked the hydro guy if he put it on there and he said that he didn’t. So the lady who bought it from my dad must have put it on, in hopes of putting it back on the road some day
Then when I drilled the trunk latch open….to my surprise what was sitting in the trunk….the caved in door. Lol.
Also, if you’ll notice, there is an air horn under the hood. Lol. I don’t remember that as a kid, but I put my air compressor to it and it worked like a charm….and loud
