Lots more of good work Louis....Is your wife supporting the work your doing....I finally told my wife the 1971 Scamp I am buying is going to be a thumper and she replied that she is ready for some horsepower...WWOTT...

MD lookin good man. Those plates look flat to me. But that could jst be the pics. I got my tires on friday. :) I'll update my thread this weekend and send ya the link. For only owning my car for 3 months I feel we have made good progress. Keep up the good work. Can't wait for more pics

Changing plans on the motor. I have almost all the parts for a 360CI Single Turbo Set up. I will start a new build thread on that alone. 7.5 to 25+ pounds of boost at the twist of a knob under the dash! I will be running Meth/Water injection and a Blow thru carb. The Meth //Water will kick in at a set PSI of 5lbs or so. There is alot more going on that I will explain later.

Looking for 725RWHP on PUMP FUEL!............we soon shall see!

DaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!

A turbo build!!! You're my hero, dude. Can't wait to see the buildup on that. =P~

No fuel injection??? :angry7:

I think your goal of 725rwhp is within reach. How the heck do you paint the roll cage now it's in?

I am hoping so on the goal!

The headliner is not as clean as it looks there are a few holes in it so it will come out before paint and I will put at new one in it.

451Cuda Sounds like alot more of a sleeper than the previous engine slated for it. Should be fun :iconbigg:

Well I still want to hear the cam so whoever does the grind will need to accommodate that for sure. Cam will probably be in the 240@50 range Solid Roller with .610 lift or so on a 110 Centerline, something like that anyway. I will be coming off the turbo to 2-3" pipes and mufflers that dump at the axle. Maybe even an X Pipe, I dont know just yet.

Fuel Injection is WAY out of the question on this build. Too much $$ for me on this one!

MD,
once you tack all the pieces of the cage in place how do you weld 360* at the roof of the car?

You could use cardboard on the headliner to protect it and use a 12" block of wood to Push up on it and get enough gap to do it. You only need about 1" or so clearance to get a good weld around it. Piece of cake! Now that is if you are going to keep the headliner and not replace it. I will start the weld on top of the tube and wrap around the whole tube back up to the top on the other side......no stopping and starting the weld at all!

In my case it is coming out because there are a few little holes in it. It will get replaced when the new interior goes in it.:-D

Very cool so far Mad Dart! I really want a cage for my Dart, don't know how I want to go about it yet....10 point most likely...But I want it cherry as possible...I'm very picky when it comes to the building of my Dart...LOL That's why it's taking me FOREVER!

It has been so HOT I have not touched the car. I have been doing alot of research on Turbo Builds. I finally found a way to do a Twin Turbo set up and run the exhaust. The driver side was really messing with my head. I found a spot for 2 Air/Water intercoolers a place for the heat exchanger and 2 10" fans.
ALL IN FRONT OF THE CAR and NOT in the cab area!! It will also have a ICE BOX in the trunk with a Meth Tank and the pumps to control it all.

I need to decide to cut the K member or Cut the corner of the pan like 1wild&crazyguy does..........Yeah Justin I may steal your Idea! haaaa

I am installing the block, heads, trans, etc so I can MOCK all the plumbing up for the Twins! I will mock EVERYTHING up. Fuel Lines, Brake lines. The FULL exhaust out the car. Trans Cooler etc while the REAL block is getting set up at the machine shop!

I took the pan off so it would drop in!!! Yeah I work alone! :toothy10:

OK good Im not losing my mind.I posted some pics which are definitely gone..

Well I have been messing around with my cheap azzz turbo build! I am using 2 of the GT45 Ebay Turbo's and building a 410 Stroker with 9:1 Compression. I am shooting for 700-800RWHP with no more than 15lbs of boost. I have most of the parts. 2 Blow off valves, 2 wastegates, variable boost controller under dash, exhaust piping etc. 2 Air/water intercoolers will be mounted 1 in each front wheel well. There will also be a Heat Exchanger up high in front of the Radiator with 2 10" fans on it. There will be an ICE BOX in the trunk plumbed in also. I will also be running a Stage 2 AIS Meth Injection kit and a BLOW THRU CARB. I am using Block Hugger Headers to keep the cost and fabrication to a minimum.
We will see what happens. I hear Boost is like Crack..........if it is I will be for sure upgrading in the future once I get the hang of building one of these things.

The cage will be upgraded to a 12 Point in the process also. My buddy will come over with his bender and finish the front portion off. I DO NOT like the kits how they come pre bent thru the dash etc.

I will probably start a new thread on the whole process once I get DEEPER into the build.

I canna look Captain!!Louis we both know what will happen if you make this look too easy and inexpensive..right.Dang you,now the wheels are turning in my head for a turbo.I will wait and see how you make out with your work on the 410.I,m kooking forward to seeing your fabrication on your..crack pipes!LOL J/K.I know you will do a top job with your MAD skills, will be watching closely.Carry on!!8)

We will see what happens Scott. I talked to a guy on the theturboforums.com who is running one of these turbo's on a 327 Chevy with a NON specific turbo cam, heads that flow around 240 CFM at 500 lift and blow thru carb. The boost comes on at 2500 RPM and revs hard until 6K, that is when it chokes the motor. It pulls his 3600lb car thru the traps at 9.80 in the quarter.

I figure with 2 of these and more Cubes it should getty up pretty good.

There is another guy with 2 of them on a 67 Nova running 8.80 at over 150mph. He has ran them for 4 seasons with absolutely NO problems at all.

We shall see!

Looking great!

The car will definitely take everyone by surprise in your area. I wish I lived nearby to witness the jaw dropping :D

The only questions I have is how much tuning will the rear suspension geometry require, have you thoroughly checked for binding throughout the travel, and are all the mount points sufficiently gusseted for the forces they will see?

Thanks.

There is absolutely no binding in the link set up. When I installed it I brought it through full droop and bottomed it out before I welded it off, which is WAY more travel than that suspension will ever see. The pinion angle also stays set at 0 the whole time. I spent alot of time on that to make sure. I did gusset the upper shock/link tower and also boxed it in along with gussets on all the brackets and tabs. I will probably add a plate from that bar to the bottom of the car where a pinion snubber would hit. I will also tie the rear of the cage into the link to reinforce it some more. Turbodart68 "Chris suggested that one", I may need to change the ends of the links at some point to Heim's also.

Someone said that a link set up like this is only good to 10.50 1/4 mile times, well my goal is to stomp that MYTH!:-D

Urban myth on the 10.50 Louis. Man oh man you dont fool around! Make sure that monster eats tons of rice!

Cool Deal Louis...I got that talk again from the ole lady last night quote.."all you care about is working on your cars" this is after my wife sat on the phone last night until 10:30...I told her at 8:30 that I was leaving to get something to eat and I did...WTF
