so finally started work on my 73 my dad gave me for my birthday, the gf decided she wasn't happy after 3 years and left (dont ask).. so i have some free time and will keep my self busy.

its a numbers matching 340 4 speed 73 cuda, front and rear sway, power steering, brakes, 150 speedo, pistol grip, 3.55 posi 8 3/4

my direction is a 73 style aar clone. the 340 is already rebuilt very healthy. dad rebuild it in early 90s and less then 1000 miles on it.

I'm going fiberglass bumpers tucked in tight, fiberglass fenders, trunk lid, hemi orange paint, 3 inch exhaust, headers wrapped, sheet metal valve covers, 2 step rev limiter, lazer cut sub frames,

already bought the subframe connectors, bumpers and....a brand new aar bolt on fiberglass hood for 75 bucks.

i got the hood installed for mock up and fits well and i got the valences and bumpers off. Hopefully this week ill strip the fenders, hood off, interior and get the redo on a roll. here is pics im starting with

don't put fiberglass fenders, bumpers, trunklid and hood. keep it original all your doin is hurtin the value of the car.all your doin is ruining the car with all the fiberglass crap.

Its his car, he can do whatever he likes with it. I honestly look forward to seeing what you do with the car racekilla.

all these nice looking black and orange mopars
ya think it was halloween or something

i honestly could care less about value... I'm not into this hobby for money aspects. All the original stuff will be kept in storage if i ever want to go back.

already have the fiberglass aar hood installed, also have fiberglass bumpers going on tonight or tomorrow. ill take some pics..

here is pics off fiberglass hood on, car with bumpers off, and pic of back bumper i'm gonna put on probably tonight. hopefully have the gas tank, fuel lines, rear sway and shocks off as well.

also through my searching over the car i see it needs a trunk, rear 1/4s and the back frame rails are a bit rusty. I like nice clean solid stuff. So I think i am gonna put to full rear rails in. rather do it now why its all apart rather then have them go bad 2 or 3 years down the road when its car is all done. Plus i know i can do it because i just put rear rails and a trunk in a customers 70 charger and come out nice.

MAN I miss my '74 Barracuda :( That is one good looking car you are starting with. What color are you planning on? Inquiring minds want to know :D

j

im thinking hemi orange.... this car since i have been 5 has been orange, so in my mind so gonna keep it orange.

so hemi orange, aar stripe, black out hood and top of fenders in shinny black, blacked out tail panel, painted bumpers

will look similar to this one... this is my other 72 cuda, has a 340+6

no work done, waiting for a car port to be installed at the house..

i ordered 3 inch full exhaust, two full rear frame rails

decoded the fender tag and this car had alot of options... found out its tb3 paint code.

actually dartt i think so... its has a lot of option on fender tag for stripe packages... makes me rethink the direction

umm
dual mirrors, vinyl top, dual chrome tip exhaust, dual mirros, 4 speed, ralley dash, front rear sway, power steering and brakes, stripe package, i think 15 inch wheels, 340... ill post fender tag numbers tomorrow

almost got my 3 inch exhaust done.. not so simple

the mufflers were only 2/1/4 i had going in so cut ends off to 3inch would fit in... they were 50 series way to quiet so i ended up cutting one end of the muffler off and gutting everything in muffle half way back... i had cuda exhaust tips for years and smaller then 2 inch pipe going in.. there stainless so i cut them up and got 3inch to work doing to them... they need some more work... here some pics.. ill put pics up when exhaust i complete. I think i'm gonna wrap the exhaust all the way to keep heat off the floor

it sounds way good and tail pipes weren't done yet.. my brother and dad were believer of 3 inch plus my hacked up flowmasters haha

before and really nice but restricive

Looks goood dude!! And you don't see many Cuda's in that blue. So far, your build is coming along really great!

hey thanks dartt... taking a bit.. wish i had better picture taking skills and like more step by step of fabrication. Seems as stuff never looks on pics for me.. i'm pretty much getting exhaust all done then taking it back off and putting it in the shed.. least its mocked up. im dreading trunk, quaters and rearframe rail replacement... i will be doing it soon

wrapped front pipe
