Here’s what’s wrong with it:

Radio doesn’t work.
Has two dings on the trunk.
One little seam on driver's seat slit.
Dome light not working
Left turn signal light indicator on fender works periodically.
Seats a little soft.
Some pitting on door handles.
Some wear on interior door "tinsel" accent lines (whatever you call them. See pics).
Has a repaired ding and a scrape on the driver’s side front fender.
Usually cold natured. Needs to warm up before going in gear and then it is good to go like a train engine.
That’s it.

Here’s what’s new:

4 new tires mounted and balanced.
New alignment
New carburetor
New battery
New fuel pump
New brake master cylinder.
New brake hardware
New windshield washer pump
New windshield washer grommets
New air cleaner
New brake lines
New radiator hoses
New belts
New transmission fluid
Repacked wheel bearings
Lubed steering linkage
New headlights
New torsion rod bushings
New EGR module
I also have a rebuilt working radio with chrome (not black knobs)

Clear title

Wow, that's nice. Wish I had the cash for this. I would make it my daily driver. Save me a little gas compared to my 496 suburban.

i have a question for ya. whats with the red number on the odometer? i can swear that i can remember that my dad had a 74 dart and it had some kind of speedo/odometer problem and the replacement one had the red number there to say it had been replaced. anyone know for sure?

that measures "tenths" of a mile.

Good question, Joe.
I just looked at my 74 Dart Sport speedo, and it's tenths digit is black.
Disclaimer- I have no idea if the speedo in my car is original.

Edit: I should add that I never heard about red digits vs. black. It sounds interesting. Anyone know about this?

Nice Dart. Looking for reliable a-body daily driver but like most folks am broke. Any interest in trading for my 98 Dakota R/T in excellent condition. Good luck with your sale.

yea thats what i remembered. wonder how many miles are really on the car. i thought they noted the mileage of the odo change in the door jamb but not 100% sure on that.

Oldkimmer is correct !!

Red 1/10th of a mile numbers means it is a service replacement speedo.

And AbodyJoe is correct that there should be a sticker on the driver door or striker post denoting the original mileage at the time of the speedo replacement. "should" means the tech should have filled out the sticker that came with the new speedo and affixes it to the car.

If all the original owners paperwork is present, a little snooping is in order.

Wow. I'll check that out and let the forum know if I see anything fishy. Didn't know about the speedo issue and wouldn't want to misrepresent the car.

WOW. YOU WERE RIGHT. THANK YOU!!! There is a sticker on the driver's door indicating that the odometer was changed at 1919.5 miles. So, it has 16,524.5 miles on it. Still a baby, but thanks for the information. I have changed the listing to reflect the difference. I will put a picture of the sticker on the picassa picture page.

Glad that it is still a low mileage car !!!
And now it is documented.

Give the tech a big attaboy !!

Has anyone here heard of early odometer failure? Could it have failed from sitting in a garage and not being lubricated? I know the windshield wiper grommets fail from the grease drying out on these cars.

That's neato about the red tenth digit. Long as I've worked on cars I never knew that......and I've replaced a few speedos in dealerships....but they didn't have any red digits. I wonder if it was only used on Chrysler products or on certain years? That's fascinating.

Here's one that sold for $8000 plus in terrible shape compared to mine:

not trying to be a smart *** or anything but there is a huge difference between a 2 door 1969 dart and a 1975 4 door dart. we are talking light years here. can't even begin to compare pricing between the two. being in equal or even a little worse condition the 69 2 door will 99.99999% of the time bring more money. just the way it is man.

ya never know. these cars weren't exactly top quality things when they were built.. i know dads 74 wasn't very old when his was replaced. don't remember what was wrong that cause it to get replaced though.

Anything is apt to fail at anytime, either from a crappy design or 1 tiny little piece breaking.
I have seen a 318 engine spit a rod out when started in the showroom.
