Hi Leanna, here is a pic of Miranda and me. This post made me walk her even the snow drifts! Man was she happy.

Thank you all ... having your support and all the extra shoulders to lean on is helping.

You're among family here, and we've all lost that special member, some more than once.

Like some others have said, each one is unique and there is no replacing them, because no 2 are the same. They all have different personalities and quirks. Hemi in particular liked to stay wherever I was at, and hated being called "ford" or "chevy". If i called her one of those names, she'd give me this evil looking glare and lay her ears back :D

Here's Hemi again, the only cat I ever had that would stay on my shoulders while I worked.

I've had a lot of challenging jobs in my day. But this was the absolute hardest thing I've ever had to powder coat in my entire life ................

Adding his obituary to my website just now was pretty tough too.

Since he was such a fighter who never gave up til the end, I want his life to be remembered with joy and inspiration. I could use some ideas ... maybe a scholarship fund or something to help the Ronnie Sox Foundation.

Jeez leanna,...this was one of the hardest threads to read,...ever,...14 years ago, I rescued a little grey tiger fur ball from a storm drain in a local city,...named her Zipper cause she never stopped, and kept my 2 boys in line,...lost her to liver failure last year,...got her own little patch of grass and a statue out by the stonewall,...I say hi to her everytime I'm workin out there. Swore there was no way we were going to get another,...well guess what,.,,Now we have a little orange furball named Abigail,...I swear she is Zipper reincarnated,...and the boys love her,.. My boys, Charlie and Tony are 16 now and are showing their age, and I dread the day when they're gone,...but I know now that I will get another set of siblings one day as well as another dog that they can torture. I read once that the reason our pets don't live as long as us humans is so that we can enjoy more than one pet in our lifetime. Godbless, Jamie

Holy smokes, until I scrolled down I thought you were powder coating a whole car. LOL

How about running a yearly powder coating special in his honor every year to celebrate his life? Maybe on his birth day if you know it. His death day may be too sad.

My first dalmatian LOVED banana splits. She had a stroke shortly before her 15th birthday. My dad promised her a banana split on her birthday if she could hold out that long. She died one month before. We go out to Dairy Queen and get a banana split on her birthday each year to honor her memory. She took care of me and was like my "second mom" when I grew up. Whenever I cried, I would run to her and she would lick the tears off of my face until I stopped crying. Then I would give her a hug and kiss and tell her that I loved her. She got me through alot of skinned knees and elbows...

wow just saw the cat house! How many cats do you have? The house is awesome!

Okay, one last bump on this thread to thank you all once again for the strong shoulders to lean on, for the picture sharing, and for the general big brother-ness. :-D Getting through the last two weeks hasn't been easy but you've all made it at least tolerable.

KrazyKuda saw this at the Chicago Auto Show and sent it to me yesterday in memory of Sox. It's now residing on one of my storage freezers in the shop.

Thank you Karl! < hug > You always know just what to say and do, and your kind actions and thoughts are appreciated more than you could ever know.

I've also been giving a lot of thought to some kind of legacy to keep Sox's memory alive. Though this is just the start, I donated two $75 PSC Gift Certificates in Sox's name to the 14th Annual Jackson County (Tennessee) Humane Society's Fur Ball, a local black tie event held every year with a silent auction, scheduled for March 3, 2012 with all proceeds going to their Humane Society.

I created a donation option on ebay for my local no-kill cat rescue org.

Whenever I sell or buy something, there's one of those check boxes to add a donation in $1 increments (hey, every dollar counts), and there's a place to donate a percentage of the sales price when I sell, and a banner that gets insetred into the listing.

You do have to get the org on board, and have someone administer the funds when they arrive (talk to your org).

I'm starting to get options for ASPCA and the Humane Society as well as for the one I created (Feral Fanciers). That suggests others might be seeing the FF option as well.

I also thought about buying a high yield dividend paying stock portfolio, and donating that.
That would be more work, but would result in a potentially endless income stream that would survive the donor. Right now I could put together a portflio that would allow an initial investment of about $3000, to pay $150 per year...potentially forever.

Cliff, might want to check the date.....just saying.....

Thank you gentlemen. I was and still am very sorry to report it. He is sadly missed around here not just by us but by his brother Martin.
