Just getting started with this and have never done it before. But after the first tune up and a couple of thumbs up as I drove around town I'm hooked.

This is a test, this is only a test. Nice looking car. What are your plans for it. Keep it coming, we'll be watching.

Its going. My plan is to make it my daily to n from work. Maybe add a turbo to the slant n beat my brothers 68 camaro. Lol

Found a 360 for sale local. Two questions for everyone is $250 a good deal, valve covers missing and engine is disassembled; what would the rest of my drive train need to b to handle that engine?

250.00 sounds fair. Mic the crank since the motor is apart. Did he happen to still have the bearings so you could see what shape they were in? What tranny and rear do you have?:coffee2:

You're going to need a v8 tranny, a bigger rearend (8.25, 8.75, or the big daddy of them all the Dana 60) and a v8 k frame and steering linkage as well as (option for you but I'd do it if it were me) a disc brake upgrade up front.

I agree with the disc brakes. I'm putting a 440 into my Dart Sport with 727 trans. Was a /6 with 904. I have researched this out and with aluminum heads and manifold the 440 is only 100#s heavier than the /6. Minimum 8.25 sg. Depends on horse power your going to put to it.:coffee2:

Thunder, do you use a V8 k frame? I was thinking of just using the adapter engine mounts that are out there. Thoughts on that? My goal is a daily driver thats fun stop light to stop light.
Off topic are there after market recline buckets that will fit in 70 /6 duster? Checked classic industries didnt see buckets listed for dustr just other a bodies.

If your goal is daily driver, I would really look at the v8 k frame because it's designed for it were as the conversion mount becomes the weak link.
As far as the seats go, look up the company called procar (believe that's what its called). If your also going to being doing more then just daily driving, go for an 8.75 rear because you can have different gear ready to do different things in about 30 minutes (like freeway drive to the track with 2.94, swap in some 3.91s do some racing and swap back in the 2.94 and drive home).

if u put a 360 in u can use the adapter mounts.from engine-swaps.com u can also use the 7 1/4 rear end also. 250 don't sound bad. i would try to talk him down some on the price.

You're situation is similar to mine...my car started off as a slant six/904 bare bones duster. The problem is that all the stuff you're going to accquire will need a rebuild to be reliable (if you're like me and only want to do things once). My V8 k-frame was $90, BBP 73+ disc brake setup was $275, 8.75 rear end WITHOUT center section was $350. I still need the center section, custom drive shaft, rebuilt 727 trans, cooling system etc....There is alot of small misc things that need to be changed in order to make the car fun and reliable. It all depends on how much power you're aiming for but anything above 275ish and anything from the slant six drivetrain becomes marginal. It's expensive but sure is a heck of alot of fun!!! And those thumbs up will keep on comin!

Instead of the 727, go with the 904. You'll get more horsepower to the ground with the 904 then the 727.

Procar is who I would go to for seats. Good quality, reliable seats, comfortable too. As far as my k=frame, a little welding, a little stiffening, and Schumacher mounts. Sub frame connectors a wise choice. How much horse power are you going to put into your motor? Keep us posted. I think we're all hear for the same reasons.:coffee2:

Fed up with electrical wiring....

There has to be an easier way then lying upside down on the floorboard to get to ignition and wiring. Wiring a mess, electric fuel pump wire is shoved into fuse box under dash and a loose adapter that cuts out everything and causes car to stop! Frustrated when all i want to do is drive to work in it.

I can feel your pain on this one. Wiring is my personal weak point. If you pull your seat out that helps with a little extra room. Then patience is the key. There are alternatives but they can be pricey." Painless wiring " is an option. Maybe post in the general discussion forum and see if any members have some better suggestions. Hopefully there are some members on here that are close to you that can help. Wish I could help more. Good luck.:coffee2:

Will this rearend fit /6 70 duster? have a 9 inch rear end that came out of a 68 Torino. The tag on it reads web-H1 2.75 , 8CC 886

You can make it fit. you will probably have to relocate the spring pads. The big question is will it be too wide? Take all your measurements and go from there. Did you get your electrical problem solved?:coffee2:

I hope you get it tracked down. You could post your problem in the general discussion forum. There are some good people here that would be willing to help out. Good luck. Enjoy your weekend.:coffee2:

There was a lot of it!
When I showed my wife she gently explained to me that the care always had a funky smell. I figured it was just the awesomeness she was smelling. Guess I was wrong.
Going to try and take a look at the electrical now that the interior is out and I have some more room to work.

"Awesomeness smells like Shi-." I am writing that down on my list of qwirky quotes. LMAO:coffee2:

I'd definitely do my research before putting any money into a V8. What exactly are you looking to get from the car? Do you want horsepower or gas mileage or a little of both? A 360 will give you power, slant will give you mileage and a 318 will give a little of both. There aren't many 360 daily drivers out there and there's a reason for it. They eat up the gas. I'd be patient and stick to mopar parts before getting excited about cheaper Ford rear ends. Thats a cool car and I love that interior color. Good luck man.
