A bit of news

-
Glad to hear your good news Cliff!
My Dad is going through the same thing you are.
They won't operate because of his age (84), weight (280lbs), sleep apnea and the amount of damage he has in his lower back. He went in today for his second shot. They do help him some but not as much as he would like.
He has been trying to loss some weight but says it pretty hard when you can't get out and get any exercise.
I hope the shots give you some relief.

Thanks Stan can't wait for the move. I hope the shots work.

Congrats on your new home Cliff! No more renting thats good.

I have type 2 diabetes but I use night time insulin and during the day and I use regular insulin before meals. I've been diagnosed with it for 10 yrs now and have to watch my feet and do all that kind of stuff a diabetic has to do. From about the beginning of the year my upper leg area on both legs seems to have lost feelings. I can pinch my leg in that area and it doesn't hurt. I'm scared that this is the beginning indication of neuropothy for me. So I kind of know how you feel.

I hope that your back becomes better with the shots. I don't see how the shots would cure the problem altogether but at least you will get some relief from pain. I have a really good friend who has back problems. He has had surgery on his back and it helped him far as back pain but while he was being operated on he caught an infection in the area where they operated. Now he is pain because of the infection. They have him on antibiotics via a bag that he has to wear. Been on it for about six weeks now. His appetite has decreased and he has lost 32 lbs! They have him on Deloitte (sp) and he said that he is still in pain. He told the doc that he didn't want to be hooked on pain killers and doc told him that the infection/pain is so bad that "we" will worry about that later. The doc told him to keep taking the narcotic pain pills. Being doped up all of the time, in and out of pain, and other stuff he told me he has been going through I guess sometimes it is best to not operate if you look at it that way.

Glad to see you moving in a positive direction Cliff.I hope the shots will help with the pain.I understand the pain all to well having a lot of the same as you.Prayers sent to rid you of pain and to have a safe move.

Hey Cliff,Your new place will reduce stress and I am happy for you.
Those shot did wonders for my friend Tim,he just did not listen to his doctors about quit turning wrenches everyday.I am sure you will get some improvement with them.
As always you are in my Prayers.

I somehow that I re ruptured a disc that was repaired 20 years ago. He doesn't see any point in operating on my back for several reasons. A lot of scar tissue has built up around the first surgery,I am a high risk because of my neuropthy, diabetes ( main reason) , and my sleep apnea.

Go see another doctor. My mother went through back surgery 3 years ago with neuropthy, diabetes, sleep apnea, and obese. They were worried about complications especially with the diabetes and she came out fine with no complications (and she was 63).
