You can debate but you are missing the entire point of the thread. The quarter panel isn't the main attraction of the thread. I can show you what a car brought that uses that quarter panel verses the price he is asking. Now show me some four door cars that have sold for big money with that quarter panel.

This thread was posted as a stress relief thread where we could post our finds and have a few good laughs.
 
Well you started the thread. I was under the impression that it was about the ridiculous amount of money that people are asking for parts. Not the,"Show me what a 4 door sells for" thread. You tell me what the thread is about. Enlighten me.

But in all fairness, I generally agree with you on the stupid prices for parts.
But like I said,If the buyer is happy and the seller is happy,more power to you.

Seems like prices here can get kinda stupid too. Ive yet to see a clutch pedal set I liked the price of...

Just remember that the majority of this overpriced,rusty junk never sells.

Someone will buy that ,post it for sale on ebay. There are alot of high
rollers out there.
Then there is just me and watch the sale go by.

I do not have a $1500.00 pistol grip.

I agree some of the asking prices are insane.

But I do think sometimes eBay can be good for finding a value on some of this stuff, especially if it's nice.

For instance if I had a pair of NOS Formula S badge I wouldn't know what it is worth... $40 or much much more. Well one ended today and it went for $200! Seller should be happy he got a couple of guys bidding on it and the buyer should get what he needs. The funny thing is that the high bidder now has his so he might not bid on the next one and it might go for $50 less.

Now I'm going to go check the price of four door NOS rear door handles!

Oh NO!!! Another-I don't like this hobby anymore.I used to get cars for $100 bucks but now they cost a thousand????Good Luck guy's-Whine on!!!!!
 
fMMPAR is Frank Mitchell of Mitchell Motor Parts. He's been listing stuff at stupid prices for years. High end restorers that just have to have that date coded NOS air for refilling the air pockets in original seat foam go to guys like him....and pay what he's asking.

It also gets people talking about him and his business. He sells a lot of stuff at a more reasonable price as well.
 
Most of the ebay stuff listed as examples on this post are items these sellers have been unable to sell due to the pricing, these items have been relisted on Ebay so many times its way beyond belief.
I can understand why NOS parts for Ebodys are through the roof, look what a matching numbers 70-71 Barracuda sells for, but it makes me scratch my head more so when I see an Ebody on ebay that looks like its been stored at the bottom of the ocean its entire life or been through the crusher a few times and you still have people bidding alot of money for it.
