Way Cool Lower Control Arms

those look alot like the CAP lower control arms. The CAP ones were having a ton of problems.

don't wanna rain on your parade but these will offer zero performance upgrades. they are pretty much just a "fancy" direct replacement for the factory lower control arm. In my opinion a person would be better off just picking up the re-inforcement plate for the factory lower control arm and save themselves $449.99. For that price you could get QUALITY tubular upper control arms and lower strut rods both with the rod ends and see a real life performance upgrade.

I saw those recently on qa1's site.
My opinion:
Looks flimsy as hell. The price is astounding.

The interface where the lower BJ mounts to the arm is pretty anemic and the whole thing is anemic (for the price).

50 - 75 bucks each is what they are worth.

Sandblast and reenforce the factory units. Spray with epoxy. Done.

I have read some info on CAP products, even had a CAP strut rod that broke in two in the threaded area. NOT buying from them again! (I think they went out of business?)

Thanks for the advice, that changes my direction for future suspension mods.

these are the plates from AR ENGINEERING. they cost $20.

QA1 bought out cap ( i heard to avoid getting sued) hopefully the quality has improved


never really understood what was gained with those arms... how much lighter could they be?

Is that $20 including the balljoint?

The ball joints, top and bottom, are going out on my Dart and autozoo wants $90 a piece for the lower ball joints cause they come with a new control arm.

If that comes with the ball joint for $20 I think I'd rather do that.
 
$20 is just the cost of the plate that welds to the bottom of the factory LCA for strength. The picture shows the plate welded in place, and is not a image of what you receive.

That seems pricey for a lower ball joint, have you checked rockauto.com

NO. that picture only shows the re-inforcement plate installed on the lower control arm. it is just the plate for $20. then you have to weld it on.
 
Oh, now I feel stupid. It looked like some kind of new trick CA. Now I see it's a stock one.

I don't know why I haven't looked at rock auto. I'll check that out.

LOL, if they were 20 a piece id be ordering 80 bucks worth :D
 
Check your facts boys before spouting off your mouth--All the tests have been done on these arms,They are lighter and STRONGER than factory lower arms even with the plates installed proven fact-look it up-Cap products never had a LAWSUIT against them again look it up,Qa1 took a year to test and fix some of the jigs that they bought from cap,If you were offered said amount of dollars for a business you started and it would take care of you and your family for the rest of your life and the rest of your life you had the money to race when ever you wanted WHAT WOULD YOU DO????? That's what the owner of cap got from qa1. You think Qa1 is that stupid WAKE UP and keep your mouths shut--
 
Well if more people would THINK before they would type or check some FACTS about a product and not just rant UN-truthfull facts there would be a lot of love. Truth hard to find these days ANYWHERE !!!

Any of you guy's touch my stuff I'll kill ya--LOL - I like lee Harvey the best in that movie
