Sooo frustrated after going through hell for my Drivers License they screwed me

-
Oh the dentists kid lost control and hit a tree and was killed..while his buddy who was driving did, they both died and the law came down very hard on the drunk

I thought that all the states shared info now when it comes to Drivers License stuff? If so moving is not going to solve anything. And using an address in another state is not going to help. The few states I have lived in want proof of residency, a water bill with YOUR name on it etc.............So that rules out just getting a PO box somewhere.....Was just talking to the wife about this and she is positive that when we went to get our license up here one of the questions on the application was is your license currently suspended in another state.......

But maybe different states have lower standards or rules ?

I never lost my license so in the dark on this, I do think its too easy today to lose your license. How we can have a right to bear arms and free speech but not to drive, I don't back in know..too bad we were not driving back 1776

Yes some folks just should not drive and I'm not saying everybody should have a right to drive but the states use driver licenses as a weapon to force people to pay up and that just isn't fair. You almost have to drive to get to work or the store, its not like the USA has great public transit, the only way to get around is by driving

Depends where you are at, in SW Michigan they hit you with 2nd degree murder and most often get a conviction. My dentist kid got rear ended by a drunk who was being chased by a person who didn't like his bad driving, the drunk was 29 years old and got 30 to 70 years in prison, he be an old man if he ever gets out

Now again, NY state, its far different..not sure about other states

Canada is "soft" on all crimes

Not all of them (crimes).....they get pretty wound up here over politically INcorrect crimes:banghead:

Seems like that state is screw up--I didn't like it much when I was there for just a day last year.

NY seems really cool, I hear of drunks killing people while driving and they get 3 - 4 years in jail, in Illinois you get sen up the river forever.

That state threw 2 of its Governors in prison, I hope to never ever go back to Illinois.

I would move if I was you, too bad they got that $13,000 from you

I want to think you're being sarcastic but the tone in your post says you're serious. You really think NY is cool for letting drunks off the hook after 3 - 4 years in jail? Apparently you've never lost a love one due to a drunk driver. If you murder someone, you should get sent up the river forever. Driving drunk is murder. It may not be first degree but if someone dies because of your stupid decision, you should be punished to the full extent of the law. Everyone and their mother knows this before getting behind the wheel and you risk it any time you've had a couple beers, whether you think you're impaired or not.

You get more time up here for running someone down while drunk than walking in their front door and shooting them in the head .

Sorry, but this instantly jumped into my head.

Here you don't have to show residency but if a person 36 years old walks in and tells them they have never had a driver’s license the red flags go up. I do think what they did in your case by not being up front with all their fees was totally wrong.

I have a guy that helps me out and his mother got her driver’s license suspended from an unpaid ticket from Pennsylvania. No notice from the Oklahoma DMV so if she would have been pulled over while driving she would have had criminal misdemeanor charges filed and gone to jail. On top of that her car would have been impounded. The DMV couldn’t tell here any details besides it was an unpaid ticket and she needs to contact Pennsylvania. His mother has lived in Oklahoma for over 30 years and hasn't been back to Pennsylvania since he left there so the ticket has to be over 30 years old. Welcome to the wonderful world of computers. They always said you can't run from the long arm of the law. While I know many that have done so in the past but thanks to modern technology the times are changing.

I am not going to go biblical on this but I do believe that this is part of the mark of the beast.

Hey Ramone don't let these commies get you down . Beat them at their own game.
Go down to 26th n Kalifornia and pick up a sombrero along with a Dirty Sanchez mustache! Then go get yourself one a them ma"trick"ula consular ID's and I'll bet Rahmbo will have the red carpeting waiting for you down at the DMV .

And when they pass the Shamnesty bill ....you can start a new life as Senior Ramone Sanchez !!

Not sure if Ramone Sanchez will work because he's a chef on the TV show Chopped! Ha! If it does than maybe you can assume his identity and be sitting pretty! Sounds like they are really puttin you through the wringer. The people trying to get their life back on track or the extreamly hard working folk are the ones the government FU$&S.

Yeah, sometimes it depends who the victim is, not just what happen..like some people are more important then others, ugh..why I don't agree with hate crime laws. All victims of crime should be look at the same

..............

Maybe cool is the wrong word but no, I don't agree driving drunk and having an accident is the same as murder...well it depends, if they jump the sidewalk and mow down people waiting for a bus...but still, you get these old people who drive and kill somebody and they don't get hit with 2nd murder.

I like laws to be fair and equal, if they want to hit people with 2nd degree murder for drunk driving accidents, then charge EVERYBODY who is at fault in a fatal accident with 2nd murder, why should the fact they are drunk matter...what about the guy who flies through a red light while sober...in fact, that is more deliberate isn't it ?

Another thing I would be concerned with, if you can somehow get a d/l in another state is insurance. I know of someone who did not want to pay NJ stupidly high rates and never transferred his d/l, car info or insurance from Florida. He got pulled over by a cop who had seen him driving past him for a couple of months. Don't remember what they charged him with but he had to pay a ton of $$ to make everyone happy in the end.

If you drink and drive and kill someone it is the same as pointing a gun into a crowd and pulling the trigger. My dad was hit by a drunk driver on his motorcycle and was drug almost a mile under the bumper of the drunk assholes truck. My dad subsequently lost both of his legs and guess what! The drunk illegal immigrant piece of **** got away with everything because there were no witnesses on the rural road he was on. So any drunk that gets behind the wheel of a vehical and hurts or kills somebody deserves to be prosecuted as a murderer.

I suspect if you had a bond that was issued on your behalf it was probably for a contract or agreement guaranty. If the State was the holder and they collected on the bond. Then the State would be paid and you would owe the bonding company. That may be dischargeable in BK.

Lot of assumptions but just thought I would throw that out there.

Maybe fail to change address and no insurance for that state ?

The laws are so complicated today, I think they just arrest you and then have another dept figure out what to charge you with.

Yeah that isn't right.

The laws are not fair, I don't know what the answer is. Freaken old people get away with "murder" at times cause they are sober but here they should not have been driving in the first place...just like the drunk

This is why whenever I see someone swerving I dial 911. Had to go to court in AZ once. It was the woman's 8th DUI. The prosecutor informed me they were trying to figure out what to do with her and that my testimony about how she was driving was going to play into it. The woman was driving eastbound in the westbound shoulder.....not the paved one either. She had climbed the curb and was going 60 or so in the bumpy dirt shoulder. When the cops finally caught up with us she stepped out of the car, hurled and then fell into the pile of puke. A night to remember........

I am sorry you got nowhere with the lawyers you chose but I think the right lawyer could help you. Do a lot of research as to who THE MAN is in the county where the bond is owed. Anyone will tell you they can help you. You need to find the one who specializes in traffic law and gets results. Good luck and I hope this gets resolved soon.

That has to be the worst logic I've ever heard in my life. Holy **** I don't even know what to say to a statement like that.

How many driving on a suspended tickets did you get? and why was your license suspended in the first place?

I.....uhm..no wait..What? Charging through a red light while sober constitutes as vehicular manslaughter. and whats this nonsense about that being worse than driving drunk....Driving drunk+ killing someone while running that light is 3 crimes...driving sober and doing the same thing is 2...but more to the point if you willing get hammered then kill someone while behind the wheel..you deserve to go to prison for the rest of your life where you get a human booster shot from a guy named Mary. At least running that red light sober stands a better chance of a non death outcome.

Yeah, so if you just say f**k it, I'm flying through that red light and are sober and kill somebody, you should get less time in jail then if you were drunk and failed to see the red light.

I don't agree with that

oh brother.. now your argument is just stupid.

I.....uhm..no wait..What? Charging through a red light while sober constitutes as vehicular manslaughter. .

Yeah and in some places if your drunk its 2nd murder

What the hey, both accidents killed somebody. The sober driver knew darn well what he was doing yet gets off easier then the drunk.

I don't believe that is fair
