i never used to buy hotwheels or even look at the boys section in the toy store bcoz i always thought ppl would look at me strange if they saw a girl looking at toys for boys ....then one day in early 2012 i realized that the toy store dont really care what you buy and if someone sees me looking at the boys isle in the store ...they might assume i have a son or something.

now everytime i go to the store it seems im bringing home more....its become addicting to thumb through the racks at the store and hand pick only the mopars LOL

last trip to walmart brought on 5 new ones among them is a new 68 dart which is perfect for me......thats my car

and also another copy of a 68 cuda notchback .....which is too cute ....first notch i have ever seen in this form

so am i alone or do you guys collect HotWheels too?

Nope your not the only one i have collected for just about 20 years! Started right after my son was born it was the perfect excuse for looking in the toys section buying them for my son! Still look and buy today it is a fun addiction. Happy hunting!

No Rani, you are not the only one. My dad got me hooked over 30 years ago and I did and continue to do with my 2 boys. Just as you have done I go for the mopar ones first and then just a few other ones that catch my eye.

Oh Yeah,...Been doin that for years,....It's a terrible vice...

you guys n doll got me interested now...going to walmart lol

I had bags full when i was a kid smashed them all [if i only knew then] i was purchseing them when my kids were small every time we went to the store i would get each boy an identical hot wheel [identical so there were no arguments] at the same time i would get me some. I do not collect the entire series just what i like and in bulk [70 SS chevelles must have 2 dozen,t bolt fairlane a dozen, milk truck a dozen any muscle car thats popular at least a dozen] haven't bought any latley but from the looks of it i may have to get some more.

I use to buy Mopar cars in matchbox hot wheels or Johnny lightning

I ended up with way too much stuff, started collecting JUST PROWLERS,

now I still have way too many cars and plan on thinning the herd some later

Rani,

My Prowler was made into a Johnny Lightning in 2001, have you got one of those?

Nothing wrong with you collecting die cast

I used to be, but got out of them totally. I spent more money on them than then realized that I would rather spend the money on a real car. So sold them all off and bought myself my first mopar!

I had all but a few of every mopar made. Had close to 15k hot wheels.

Here's my small but growing collection. Always get one for the son, and one for me !!

Fabo is sooo awesome.....most of you here have the same interests as me in Mopar related stuff and its not always just the real cars. i really wish i would have found this site a few years before i actually did.

Like most I started as a kid when they first came out.My buddy Bob and I would take our lunch money and go to the Five&Dime at lunch and get the latest ones out. Still have the "Wheel" case but most all of the 60's car's are gone.Started back up again in 2000.When I got too many and no place to put them, I handed them out at swap meets to kids when Dads were hunting parts. It was gold to lite up a kids face.
HotWheels and Johnnylighting used my Charger and Duster photos as base for production runs.

member mvh has a jl that used his car as a model also.thats pretty cool.

I still have a bunch i collected when i was younger, i also have 2 matchbox dukes of hazzard chargers i saved from my little brother, whom at the time was 4 or 5, and we still have no idea who he pilfered them from....but cool nonetheless. Also i have a ton of 1:16 scale drag car, funny car, and nascar models from the early 90s still in boxes. luckily i never played with them, although i really really wanted to. my favorite though is a 96 ram, 1/61 scale, by a company called racing champions i think, "mint edition"...mines number 40 something out of 500 made.

I've collected them for yrs. Have several hundred still. I also collect 1/18th scale diecast Mopar, Corvette, Indy Pace car, also most diecast from Snap on and Matco like funny cars and dragsters. Its a sickness for sure but I could have worse habits I guess.

ive collected them for a while as well i have some that i got from my uncle that have the redline wheels from the 60s some of mine got pretty beat up from playing with them but as i got older i bought them and left them in the packages . i bet ive got several hundred though . i even get my 4 yo daughter one every once in a while and she love em even though my wife wants to kill me everytime i get one
