due to current forrest fires here in Colorado the sun and moon have been bright orange in the evenings into the nights .......

so last night i was looking at an almost full moon from the drivers seat of my 72 demon ......amazing view........so after awhile i was cat napping so i decided to lay across the bench and snooze just for a little.

well i woke up at sunrise from a very good sleep ....when i woke up....i thought...."dang thats a comfortable car"

anyone else ever do some bonding ...just you and your car.

By myself?....LOL

yes...numerous times as a young man....sleeping in the back seat of a E body is not very comfortable....

in fact i slept alot at work in my work truck....the truck was yellow....had to paint my bedroom yellow so i could sleep at home at night...

I have. 68 Fastback.

At the last minute I decided to go to a big car show on the Washington coast. No hope of getting a hotel or a location to camp.

Folded down the rear seat, trunk divider and rolled out the sleeping bag. If I ever do it again I will have some kind of foam pad.

Im sure my car could sleep 2, comfortably with a little padding.

Yup, slept in most of my cars before, the 73 Suburban Wagon being the most comfortable, the 98 Neon being the worst....camped in the wagon a few times, the other times I slept in the cars was because I was unable to drive :drinkers::drinkers::drinkers:

I have fallen asleep under my cars before while working them too, I have also slept in the bed of my old truck, nice watching the stars :glasses7:

Actually the last two summer I was working nights out of town....I would leave for the weekend to go home on friday mornings...and drive a few hours ....stop in the rest stop at the big town of Luning along US 95 and sleep for a few hours.

'72 Demon, huh? Wanna trade for another car?

I've slept in a few, yeah. the '68 Charger was ok. Back of the '72 pickup on a summer night with a good bag and a mat was great.

Yup. Several cars and many times. Sometimes as you did by accident, sometimes more planned. SOMEtimes the aftermath of a party, LOL

yea....i have my coronet wagon im sure that could be a camper and a half.

at almost 4'10" the demon has plenty of room for extra comfy snooze :sleepy1:

'72 Demon, huh? Wanna trade for another car?

whats funny is now im sleeping in this demon and i sit in it often to think .....but IT DONT EVEN RUN BWAHAHHAHAHAHA

its on blocks in my back yard in a row of cars and never goes anywhere.:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

Did it a couple times when driving miles and miles to trade/buy a diff car, also do it on road trips. Couple times in winter I've left the car idling so the heater would stay on while I took a nap roadside... lol.

Many many MANY times Rani, Bon fire parties enjoying Mud Bugs and Cold wobbly pop's :D
memike don't drive when I have a perfectly soft sleeping spot in Victoria or my Ramcharger
I like waking up and cleaning the area up and picking up behind everyone :D
you would be surprised what I find :D I know the feeling of waking up looking at the morning day break :angel5: I need to do that again soon :glasses7:

There used to be a car dealership downtown in the town where I grew up, and still live. If I was headed home from a party and couldn't hitch a ride and didn't want to walk the 6'miles home, I would go through all the cars on the lot until I found one open and sleep in there until morning!! Does that count?

Here's the list of my cars I slept in:

1960 Chrysler NewYorker
1962 Chrysler NY wagon
1964 Chrysler Newport limo
1965 Chrysler 300 convertible
1967 Chrysler Newport
1971 Dodge Dart

The wagon was by far the best to sleep in, which I've done quite often.

Well, it sounds like you should get out and start livin life.

LOL, okay I lied.

I have once or twice before, but not by choice. lol.. Pulled in front of the house, so damn tired, layed back for a sec and woke up in the morning with the engine still running!

never again.

Not in quite awhile, but I did used to when traveling. I'd just pull into a rest stop out of the way somewhere and sleep over night instead of getting a hotel room. Now, at least around here, there's signs everywhere ("Signs signs, everywhere there's signs...") at rest stops saying it's illegal. Whatever. I'd still do it if I had to. I never sleep more than 4-5 hours at a time anyway, so a hotel room is a waste of money for me usually.

In a previous life my (now deceased) friend were on a weekend jount N of San Diego. We'd been "hittin" it and driving late into the (early) morning hours, and pulled over WELL off the road to nap. Awakened by the CHP banging on the window. He was nice enough, but highly suggestive that we move on.

slept in my 74 dodge van for 6 months when me and my first wife split ,she booted me out had nowhere to go so the woods with the van i went wasnt that bad really went to the local campgrounds for showers and such.

I tried to sleep in my Dart once. Did some 16 hour days at my job and figured it wasn't worth even going home, since it's like a 75 miles/1 way. But those front bench seats just aren't long enough, and once your mind realizes that you can't fully stretch out your legs all the way.......then it's like being in an insane asylum.

Tried opening the passenger door a little to stick my legs out, but that was just dumb, with the dome light on in my face. :D

you must be really tall ....i can stretch out across the bench with the doors shut but im almost 4'10" in height ....i never thought that a tall person would not be able to do the same in a body ...you might need a C-body to catch some snooze time :laughing::laughing:
