Don't care about getting top $. More curious as to what it may be worth and weather I want to sell it, or just stick it in my car.

I've seen them listed here for well over a thousand bucks. That one being brand new, big $$$$$.

okay so, what did these sharktooth grilles originally come in? demons, or dusters, and what years exactly? can one be made to fit a 1970 dart? what would be needed? i think they look neat and all, but never really understood the expense? factory option, like check the box for a shark tooth grille?

The sharktooths came in 71 dusters and 72 twisters as well I believe. It would dress my car up nice, but was going to get it painted 1st if I go that route. Car is now panther pink, but is an original butterscotch car. Id much rather it be butterscotch. LOL!!! I gave $1000 for it many yrs ago.

71/72 340 and Twister Dusters.

I know the repo's are coming, from what I heard and the are going to sell for $1200
Not sure if that will help the price of real one or hurt it?

I'm wondering if the folks repopping it would like to buy it, so as to have something to base repops on?

There is a sharktooth grill being repoped by classic industries. At least its in my catalog that I got in 2012. The full assembled one is $1232.99

I always thought they should repop them. Good used ones are hard to come by and part of the reason I never dared to use this one

I would say at least $2k also. If a repop will be in the $1200 neighborhood, then NOS will always be worth considerably more.
From a distance of a few feet, a lot of reproductions look nice, but close up, they are identifiable as a repop. Case in point, my '68 Road Runner finish panel. Yeah, they make reproductions of it and the '68 GTX panel.
From a distance they look good, up close they lack some of the detail.

If one is building an OEM priceless!!! Repos can be good or cheap ****. Something is always worth what someone is willing to pay. Great grille!!! I LOVE it!!!

looks awesome...72 twisters didn't have em...only 71-2 340 dusters and 71 twisters.

Reproductions will hit two markets;

- Anyone who wants to put one in a Duster or Valiant that didn't have one, originally

- Anyone who is restoring an original Duster that had one, who doesn't want to spend the money or time hunting down an original that is in good condition (original or resto)

This means two things for yours, as far as it's monetary value goes;

- All of the customer base will have a viable option available to them, at their convenience

- Your target market is now the latter, original cars being restored, who want NOS/ original over reproduction.

How it impacts value depends on who you talk to, in order to sell it. Some of the people going for an original will not settle for less and the price is around $2G. Doesn't really affect them, if they have to get NOS for their original ride to be concourse. Everyone else will pay less.

If it were mine, I'd likely sell it, save the cash from the sale and buy a reproduction when they deliver, if I had something that didn't have one in it to begin with. If my car was a 318 or /6 car, I wouldn't even consider buying an original, unless the price was on the cheap and I could restore it, or what have you.

I have an original 1968 Dodge Charger grille set for my car. I'm not going to use it, because of the reproductions. I would much rather put new plastic on the front of my car that has new technology in it's chemistry and construction, than worry if a 45 year old piece of plastic is going to hold up on the front of my car.

When I get around to it, I'm going to restore it, sell it, buy a reproduction and be on my way.
