A fun idea... how difficult would it be?

-
Remember that the B body wing cars were designed out of aerodynamic necessity, not for appearance. When they were new they were considered hideous and to many, they still are. If your Duster, Dart, Cricket, etc. is capable of 200+ mph and needs a wing and nose cone for it's aero properties go for it, if not and you do it any way, be prepared to endure whatever ridicule ensues.

I don't think they look too bad. No worse than the real ones. It's your car, do it how you like it!!

I'd drive any of them, I don't mind being different. The Charger Daytona and Superbird are the coolest cars ever made. MY $.02. I don't want the same thing as everyone else or I'd drive a chevy.

One of the Petty's drives one here in town and I think it looks awesome. I see it every week.

i think this would have been REALLY nice with a wing and BIGGER nose

I can't say I ever LOVED the look of a Superbird/Daytona, but there is an appeal with them being so different. That said, after seeing the Dart and the Barracuda pics, the a-bodies do the look better justice than the b-bodies. The longer nose looks more balanced on the smaller car. B-bodies are long enough without the extra nose.

It would help the aero of the car, right?
Oh that's right. No one drives their car on the interstate regularly.
What a bunch of stick in the muds.
Looks be damned. That's a matter of opinion.
Just think of the fun you could have.

Fellow walks up to you and says:
"I rode in one of these. It was a 340 car."
"Yea, but this one is a Hemi".

Go ahead, let them keep calling your car a Nova.

you're right, people should put the nose and wing on, so people call it "an ugly mixed-up mess" instead of a "Nova".

You know, some people have a bad case of "I got mine, now you get yours.":D

Again, ugly is in the eye of the beholder. I'm thinking function first.
The nose would have to help on the highway.
Maybe I'll just put a dual snorkel on my 74.
Yea, that will fix it.

Different, is always good, but I would go for the nose before I would put on a useless wing,...but I don't drive like my head is on fire and my *** is gonna catch either,...and probly not the same old green's, yellow's and B5 blue''s that you see at every car show..

The wing isn't useless, you just have to be doing 100+ mph. :burnout: :D

That's actually why its so damn tall. It had to be that tall to get it into laminar air flow. The greenhouse on those cars was so tall and steep that more standard height wings would have still been in turbulent air flow. So Ma Mopar raised the wing so that it would actually create useable downforce on the track. Won a whole lotta races to prove it too. Which is why nascar banned them after that...

It comes down to this: The idea behind this thread is really about customizing. And if there's one thing I've figured out about FABO is that there's very little support for anything customized around here.

Beauty is definitely in the eye, but I find bone-stock restorations incredibly boring. I'm a creative person by trade, so I respect anyone who personalizes their car, even if I don't agree with the concept or execution. Reversible mods are always better, but hey, we're talking about a-bodies here. You can always find another one. And as long as you own it, it's not my place to tell you what you should or shouldn't do with it.

Even though the interweb has completely obliterated this old-fashioned notion, I'm still a firm believer in the phrase, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."

Instead of "Aeroduster" I would name that first pic "The Dustpan" because that's what it looks like!

I agree, the 71 looks like it should have been made. The others...well, not so much...

There used to be a yellow Conquest with a wing and nose in Fort Collins and I once found a pic on the web but can't seem to find it now so you'll have to use your imagination:)

Not trying to start a riot but if you didn't like your front clip (which you've said several times) why did you buy the car? Also it would be much cheaper to get a glass front clip or pick one up from a local or swap meet somewhere then to do all the mods for an a body wing car. The nose cones that are for b body cars that are fake are never less then 1000.00
