hi i have a 73 duster and i have no heat at all when i turn the switch nothing happens. idk if its the switch or the heater blower but i really need heat so it's drivable

Check for 12V at the switch and then you'll know. You could always rig a temporary 12V wire with a a switch directly to the motor and see what happens-

ok how would i do that? i made a jumper with a 12 v source and put it in the plug that goes to the swich and nothing happened

you need to test the blower motor itself with 12V. a service manual will tell you which wires are which off the connector. if you get the blower motor to run then you can go from there. hell , check the fuse box first.

yea ill check the wiring diagram when i can and my fuses should all be good cause i just replaced most of them but i'll check them too

ok so i tested it and it didnt work at all. could it maybe be the resistor? or should i just go and get a blower motor? and does anyone know where i can get like a replacement for the wire for the like hot/cold controls? mines completely seized up

Go get a blower motor.

The wire you speak of.... Could that be the cable for the control door?

Check to make sure that it is not just bent/routed where it bends too much. Minimum bending is best. If not, then you need to find another cable.

Be careful when replacing the cable. The spring clip that holds them onto the mounting brackets can be difficult. then you end up breaking the bracket off of the housing and making a hole.... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Sometimes I think it'd be easier just to bolt a Maradyne heater to the firewall.

ok thanks and yea i mean the wire to controls the doors there's no bends in it i think just over time inside the cover got a bit corroded, it works it just moves the whole thing.
