.................Ali.................

Sorry Rob. I guess this is one of those issues where we don't agree on everything. Great fighter and showman. Used it as a platform to help fight racism. Fine. Other then that sorry. I see him as a draft dodger and nothing to feel ashamed about for expressing my opinion on that issue. All that being said. May he rest in peace.

He was a man who when asked to serve his country said NO...very Un-American he had no problem making 10 of millions of dollars boxing here though..you people want to hero worship him go right ahead..he was farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr from one..

I confused again. What's the problem?
He could have gone into the Army and killed people.
It would have been the perfect career move with his new found religion.

Goodluck convincing the narrow-minded folks on this site of that.

I try not to look at people like that anymore. We are all adults here and have been posting together for many years. None of us will ever agree on everything. While I appreciate you agreeing with me, I also appreciate differing opinions. If we all thought the same we'd never learn anything from each other and it would be a really boring place.

ok I admit he was a bad a $$ boxer.Kinda funny he was trying to be peaceful as he was pounding in people's heads.....lol Just messing with ya !I think Howard C was the only one to smart off to him and didn't visit the hospital

Ali was the greatest of all time, but not only because of his boxing skills. He was not a draft dodger, he stood up for what he felt was right. At that time, he could not get served at a diner in this country, yet he was asked to put his life on the line for it. He sacrificed alot when he refused the draft, he was stripped of the heavyweight boxing title, he could not fight for over 3 1/2 years, and he was facing prison time, all this for what he believed was right. How can a man standing up for his religious, and social beliefs in a time when it was unheard of, be turned into such a negative thing? R.I.P CHAMP.

Well said, DARTLARRY. I as reading today about how people forget that he came up at a time when the greatest civil rights leader(MLK) was murdered, etc. Hard for me to judge, for sure.

Care to explain how helping the South Vietnamese fight the North Vietnamese is serving your country? Anyone? Freedom my ***. Wars are for money, power and profit and I do not condone them.
Of course I see someone brought up Elvis. Sure he served. But the fat slob drug addict died in disgrace.

Well said Larry! As I heard the other day on the radio, he was social media before social media.
A polarizing figure

Doesn't matter who we we're fighting..his country asked him to serve and he said no ..not only a "draft dodger"..a TRAITOR..by the way you ever serve???...

Marciano would have kicked his muslim *** all over the ring..nothing but a "DRAFT DODGER"....

According to a computerized match, he did.
I didn`t read all of these posts. I never cared for the arrogant jerk. back when he changed his name, he really hurt his dads feelings, it was in the news at the time. I always rooted for smoking Joe against the mouth . wonder if he "worked" his way into heaven! CAN`T BE DONE!!

It's all good, Wolfie. The day we cannot respectfully disagree means we are probably regressing back to children. lol

I cannot agree here in any way shape form or fashion and I am not an Elvis fan. Well.......let me clarify. I AM in the sense that there are few things that represent America as much. Few things as recognizable.

Suddenly, you have clumped all drug addicted people into one basket. That's wrong. Addiction is a disease just as much as any other. It is uncontrollable to those who are addicted. I am disappointed that you would make such a statement.

Hey thanks Rusty. I don't normally participate in the "spirited" conversations here but as a sober person, I sure do get tired of people insulting others dealing with addiction. I'm 6 years sober this august(by the grace of God) and alcoholism has affected every male on my dads side for generations. I have discussed addiction via PM with various members here and on moparts and people should realize that there are a lot of people dealing with this issue and belittling, insulting and judging them is a really negative/counterproductive thing to do. I'm not trying to start anything or argue with anyone, just throwing it out there. I implore you guys to be careful when posting here. I have a few friends who are no longer with us due to this issue(I don't care what you want to call it, disease or otherwise). Sorry for the rant and the hi-jack. Now back to arguing if Ali was a bum or not......

Not just good for you, but GREAT for you! That's a tough one to kick......perhaps the toughest of all. I salute you for your willpower. But as you mentioned, without Him, nothing is possible!

You kinda sound like a hate filled prick LOL. I would have paid good money to watch you tell Ali to his face he was a coward... that would make pay per view history.
