Back in the Mopar game!
In retrospect, it all went smooth. Took me a while to find the house, way at the top of a lookout. The kid wasn't there, so I dealt with his Mom who was nice but a real drill sergeant, heck no she wasn't afraid of a stranger showing up at her house. Aside from some scale in the trunk, the Fury has no rust....bottom of doors, edge of hood, trunk lid, none! It has a vacuum leak so I was getting anxious driving in small-town traffic but once I hit 75 it was a smooth ride. It drives with one finger, it has that cool floating quality but it doesn't wander and doesn't have any rattles either. The new carpet is OEM and the interior has no rips, the kick panels are in the trunk though. Tomorrow the Fury will get a quick bath then my friend Mr. Davis will put it on his lift and check it over. I like the 360. The drive was easy and the car drew several admirers when I stopped. I left my camera at home!! So here's the first pics, sorry you can't see much. Thanks guys for your encouragement, it helped.

Today my two older kids start school. This means I had to get up at 6:45 for the first time in ... a long time. I'll probably be starting my rehab practice work tomorrow or at least within the next few days. Stoked about that! I'll be tagging along a high school math/natural sciences teacher a couple of hours per day for a couple of months and go up from there.
I am unofficially a Saab owner today. I don't have the money to buy it right at the moment but I went to talk to the owner of the one I had in the pic a few pages back.
He said no one has shown any interest in that little car in 40 years so he will save it for me .....He gave me permission to dig through a near by building to see if I can find any parts to it. Problem is I might wait till winter to go in that building because I get the feeling there might be some nasty critters in there now.
So looks like I might become a Saab 96/ mopar gal.

excellent news and great catch. first year for the 360 and great year of car. I wish I would have saved spare parts from the sport fury I had but I might come across more of that stuff.
welcome back to the mopar game as you say and you have a great car to form a relationship with, I loved my fury when I had it but I traded it for a 69 dart that suits me better. The main thing is they all get TLC they deserve

I found a couple Saab forums based in the U.K. but these blokes don't seem to fancy the older pre-1980 Saabs but rather have a fancy for the cars made in the mid 90s and up.
There is another one that does not specify where it's based but it's in English so that is a start I guess

Note to oneself: don't let it loose at the freeway with cars going by at 80mph.
Should been there the time I had a mallard dive out of the sky for my minnow. It was like flying one of those semi R/C planes with the string. I did manage a safe landing and with the help of others we did get the bird loose.

Go through the vacuum lines and put some fresh ones on... Also check any vacuum caps, I've found some old ones in my tool box that have dry rotted and cracked in just a couple years...
A good dual exhaust would be a nice improvement to help the engine run better.
The longer stroke of the 360 is needed to get that huge body moving, it has more torque than the 3.31" stroke small blocks....
What kind of fuel economy is it getting? My dad had a 76 Charger with a 360 that got 20 mpg hwy - all stock...
If it were my car, I would get dual exhaust, a 4 bbl intake and carb, electronic ignition, and toss in a double roller timing chain (the stock single chains are junk) and drive the crap out of it... A dual port dual plane offy would be great on that car, nice low end and good fuel economy....

LOL, I felt like that for a while. Still don't have full use of my right hand yet. nerve damage. Been going to therapy once or twice a week. They're saying it's going to take some time, but I'm up and doing stuff....
