I'm hoping for fair weather on the 12th. First time down the track with my new engine
73 dart sport 3350lbs with driver.. 416 j heads -20 dish. Cane roller rockers, Roller cam 284 comp cam. 750 eddy. 3:91 gears, 3000 stall , 275's nitto drag radials, super stock springs, estimate my time?

No idea on times but it would be cool to see you drop into the 10's . Good luck, keep us posted.

mid 11s with a good tune and if it hooks with the nitto's
It would fry the old 255 coopers. The new nitto's helped a bunch. I'm Alittle nervous about the drive shaft or the 741 case letting go. ???

I'll be watching this thread , your combo is very close to mine. I'm close to finishing the car, so your combo will give me an idea of what to expect.

I just picked up this package deal and I'm just starting to go through everything I got with this deal. I posted a thread about this 68 Barracuda and parts I purchased not long ago. Here is the original thread.

The guy that started this build had a shop named Southern Style Racing Engines in Pinnelas Park Fl. do all the machine work on this engine. It's a 340 with a 4" Eagle rotating assembly from Indy Cylinder heads with Wisco pistons. The engine was balanced and assembled by them. The cam that is in the short block is a Cam Motion solid roller 246/250 @.050 duration 561/541 lift. Lobe separation is 110. Today I checked the installed CL it was 107. Valve lash is .008 IE.
The rest of the combo is Indybrock heads that included their Super Modified Port & Polish job. Super Victor Intake and a Holley HP 750 Dp. TTI 1 7/8" headers. A CRT transmission with reverse manual trans and a 4200 converter. 3.91 SG rear.
Everything is new but was purchased or built 7 years ago. I haven't been able to find any info on this camshaft and wanted to ask for some feedback from some of the engine builders here on FABO. My intent with this car is a street car but I'll buy a set of slicks so I can go beat on it a little at the track every now and then

I'll be running full exhaust. Tti headers and exhaust 3" with ultra flow mufflers

Thou I haven't bought it yet I plan on running the TTI 3" xpipe and I haven't decided on the mufflers. I ran the electric fuel pump and filter on the inside of the pass. side rear frame rail so tail pipes won't work, I'm running a trunk mount fuel cell so I may be able to have a pair of 3" tailpipes made for that are closer together than stock. For now I''ll terminate them with turn downs in front of the rear axle.

741 is all I run and beat on it twice a week. I hope you have a driveshaft safety loop installed. Dana Spicer solid u joints only. China crap will not hold up.

I like my dynomax ultra flows.

Yea. It would be a good idea on the safety loop. I'll be ordering one this week. Don't know from where though. The joints are greasable joints from napa. ??
I used the universal summit loop, cut it to fit and welded it together instead of using the bolts.
Greasables are hollow. I broke a cap on the pinion yoke. Dana Spicer was the only solid u joint 1/2 way made in the USA. Cap and needles are USA, cross made in Mexico.

Will I have to remove the h-pipe to install ??

Not sure. Buy the rule book it is supposed to be within 6 inches of the front u joint.
I run manual cutouts at the track and no X pipe. Tranny drops out the bottom with exhaust and safety loop still on the car.

It's a powerful engine. But you all think i can get 11's out of it?? If it does it's going back on the trailer and I'd be tickled. Better yet if it don't break.

Thanks mderoy340. I'm new at this forum stuff. But I like.
