essentially, yes.So you want to switch fuel pumps?

heres the situation. the 78 w200 I have only has a 20 gallon tank. I have room on the other side of the frame for a 2nd 20 gallon tank, which I also happen to have. the thing sucks gas so badly, I can go about 80 miles on 20 gallons. so I want to add use this 2nd tank, giving me 160 mile range if that makes sense. I've also kicked this idea around for the dart as well since I want to take it on long cruises. So you want to switch fuel pumps?
Well, what you want to know when you're deciding on a switch is how much current you're breaking. Do you know if the pumps are chassis grounded or via separate ground wire? In case you want to break both the positive and the negative, then you'd need a DPDT switch as oppose to a SPDT one. That's Dual Pole, Double Throw vs Single Pole, Double Throw.essentially, yes.
i'd want the double throw. and the pump i believe is grounded with a separate wire.Well, what you want to know when you're deciding on a switch is how much current you're breaking. You could use Single Throw too, I guess, but then one of the pumps would always run unless you have one more switch as a master (such as the ignition switch).
Double throw has an OFF position in the middle and two ON positions. ON-OFF-ON. Single Throw are ON-ON.
They all have three connectors per pole, the middle one connects to one of the outer ones. DP switches have two rows of three connectors.
Most switches connect to the connector OPPOSITE of the direction of the throw.
So what's your question, actually?
Hey Tim!Hey men...

quite the cast of characters for sure..true but sadly, he's still better than any president weve had in the last 40 years.
That is a three-position rotary switch, it's a little different. Essentially, it's ON-ON-ON. It's only 1.2 amps, which I think might be a little on the low side.
as far as im concerned, if he's pissing off the established and life long corrupt politicians on both sides of the aisle, then hes doing something right lolquite the cast of characters for sure..

Good luckMan, this trying to find a job thing is wearing me out...
Just got off a phone interview. Got an onsite interview/plant tour with them Thurs. Have a 3rd round interview and plant tour tomorrow with another place. So with those, I now have 4 possibles in the final stages...
gotcha. I want a rotary switch, is it possible to find one thats On-Off-On? or even OFF-ON-ONThat is a three-position rotary switch, it's a little different. Essentially, it's ON-ON-ON. It's only 1.2 amps, which I think might be a little on the low side.

try laying on the floor with your eyes closed and put this as loud as you can and it just takes you into a realm where it is so clear and its like you are swimming without moving
my wife went through it several years ago - tough thing for damn sureAnd it does not pay for ****!
The current breaking capacity is an issue. Do you know the current draw on the pump?gotcha. I want a rotary switch, is it possible to find one thats On-Off-On? or even OFF-ON-ON
Just use relays, then whatever switch you find will work. The current breaking capacity is an issue. Do you know the current draw on the pump?
